Lokesh Machines Gets ₹3.14 Crore Indian Army Order for 9 mm Carbines

Hyderabad-based engineering company Lokesh Machines has secured a ₹3.14 crore order from the Indian Army for the supply of 9 mm carbines. The order was placed by Headquarters Eastern Command of the Indian Army. The company disclosed the order in a regulatory filing on October 23, 2026.

The Indian Army's Northern Command placed the first order for the SMG-- 550 units for ₹4.26 crore in 2024. The latest order from Eastern Command indicates that the company's 9 mm weapons are also being procured for a second major operational command of the Army.

🇦🇿 Azerbaijan exported 524,337.96 tonnes of crude oil to India in January–September 2026, a 4.9-fold increase compared with the same period last year.

This is one of the clearest signs of the normalization of bilateral relations and demonstrates that the process had already begun before Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to Baku in October.

Bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to $401 million last year, compared with the peak of $1.8 billion recorded in 2022. There is significant potential for trade to recover to, and even surpass, that level in the near future. Bilateral trade had already exceeded $600 million in the first nine months of this year.
