What does this mean for the salary class?

Earlier your mandatory EPF deduction was 12% of 15,000 = ₹1800

Now that deduction has increased to 12% of 25,000 = ₹3000

That means we will lose 1200 a month -> ₹14,400 a year from our in-hand salary.

UPI apps are strongly opposing the platform fee ban, warning it forces them to process bill payments at a loss.

Their core concerns include:

• The ₹1 Deficit: On bills over ₹2,000, the apps' tiny ₹1 share of the MDR fails to cover the commission they must pay to the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).

• Zero Earnings on Small Bills: Since most routine utility bills fall below ₹2,000, they generate zero revenue while apps still have to pay infrastructure costs.

• Service Cuts: Fintechs warn that without a sustainable revenue model, they may have to deprioritise or restrict utility bill services on their platforms.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is in the process of securing a contract to retrofit its 4th-generation, IP-based Advanced Composite Communication System (ACCS) across 10 Navy platforms.

The package covers Talwar-class frigates INS Talwar, Tabar, Trishul, Teg & Tarkash; INS Ranvir; Kora-class corvettes INS Kora, Kirch & Khanjar; and INS Sumitra.

ACCS integrates VLF, MF, HF, V/UHF & SATCOM into a unified digital architecture, bringing higher bandwidth, low-latency networking and improved anti-jamming capability.

The system is already operational on frontline platforms including Kolkata-class destroyers and Kamorta-class corvettes. #Defence
