🌍 India to Europe: Before Giving Climate Lectures, Let’s Talk History! 🇮🇳

“Who did the most harm to the ozone layer?” Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal turned the spotlight on Europe during a climate debate, questioning the West’s historical environmental footprint while India contributes less than 3% of global carbon emissions, according to his remarks.

Europe industrialised much earlier, building its wealth through centuries of industrial activity and fossil-fuel use. India’s position is that climate responsibility should account for historical emissions—not just today’s numbers. Goyal’s pointed message was essentially: you cannot ignore your head start in industrialisation and then expect every developing country to carry the same burden.

Gave the best response at exactly the right moment.

MEA spokesperson  on comments made by ITBP DG on the issue of ‘skirmishes’ between Indian and Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh

He refers the matter to the Defence Ministry for specifics.

He also added: As we have noted in the past, the situation in the India-China border areas gets disturbed from time to time when Chinese forces diverge from established patrolling patterns.

Both sides continue to use existing diplomatic and military mechanisms to resolve outstanding issues and avoid misunderstanding and miscalculation along the Line of Actual Control.

The two sides have also agreed to discuss ways to improve understanding of LAC in appropriate areas for better border management.

I would also like to emphasise that the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas is essential for the overall development of bilateral relations”.
