JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon stated that banks plan to oppose the CLARITY Act in its current form, as it would allow crypto firms to offer interest on stablecoin deposits without the same regulatory measures that regulators require of banks.

Dimon also stated that the bill does not fully address issues related to anti-money laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act, and criticized Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong for lobbying in support of the bill.
