🎂Although it’s sung at birthday celebrations all over the world, how much of us ever
stop to wonder where this popular tune came from?

🎂Mildred J. Hill and her sister, Patty, were kindergarten teachers in Kentucky, USA. One day in 1893, Mildred composed a melody on the piano. It sounded good, so she played it to Patty, who added some words. Soon they had made it into a simple song to greet the children as they came into class each day.
Good morning to you
Good morning to you
Good morning, dear children
Good morning to you.
Good morning to you
Good morning to you
Good morning, dear children
Good morning to you.
🎂Shortly afterwards the song was published in a book, Songs and Stories for the Kindergarten.
No one issure who took Mildred’s
melody and replaced Patty’s words with ‘Happy Birthday To You’, or when it happened, but the new version quicklybecame popular through
radio and the new medium of sound films.

🎂The rights to the song now belong to
the huge media and entertainment group AOL Time Warner. ‘Happy Birthday To You’ is said toearn about $2,000,000 a year in royalties. Sadly, Mildred Hill died in 1916, long before her song became world famous.

You can see some photos of a long awaited spring 2022 above.
🌸Spring is not only the season between winter and summer.
It also means a place where water naturally flows out from the ground.
I used to swim in hot spring in winter in Siberia!
As a verb it also means to move quickly and suddenly.
I sprang out of bed when I realized I had overslept.
Now, the question to you:
What springs to your mind when you think of spring as a season?

I live in Turkey, and today is an special day here: the beginning of the Ramadan Feast.
The Ramadan Feast is a time for visiting relatives and paying one’s respect to older people.
Many people wake up early on the first day of the Ramadan Feast. They put on their best clothes, which they often buy specifically for the occasion, and have a large breakfast. This symbolizes the end of the fasting period, which many Muslims observe during the preceding month of Ramadan.
The Ramadan Feast has an alternative name in Turkey, the Sugar Feast (Şeker Bayramı), because people treat their guests to sweets and traditional desserts during the festival.
It is customary to visit one's relatives, especially older ones, and kiss their hand as a sign of respect. Children may go door-to-door, kissing hands of the grown-ups and receiving sweets and small amounts of money in return.
