🗞️ The news is not necessarily about the politics and economics.
In Breakingnewsenglish.com you can read about very different things.
Here’s latest news in a nutshell
🐢We all like birthdays. Jonathan the tortoise just had his 190th birthday. He is the world's oldest land animal. He was born in 1832. Some scientists think Jonathan could be 200 years old. He was born in the Seychelles, before Britain's Queen Victoria became queen. He was here before the postage stamp. Jonathan had a good birthday. He had a three-day party, with a special vegetable birthday cake. He did not get to see this because he is blind. He also cannot smell. His ears are OK, so he could hear people singing "Happy Birthday". He also has lots of energy. He likes to stretch his legs and relax in the sun.

Hello there 👋
In the next few days we’re going to discuss how to motivate yourself to learn languages.
I’ll share some tips that work with me.
1️⃣ Have a Language Learning Plan
We are more likely to do what we have planned than something spontaneous.
So, try to do something every day.
Make your Monday a Grammar day and practise it on test-English.com.
Make your Tuesday a Listening day and listen to podcasts on elllo.org.
Make your Wednesday a Reading and Vocabulary day and choose a nice story to read on Essential English.
Make your Thursday a Hobby Day and do / research something you like in English, for example cook something delicious with Gordon Ramsay
Make your Friday a Movie Day and watch a nice film in the original.
Make your Saturday a Singing Day, sing your favorite songs and learn English on lyricstraining.com.
Make your Sunday a Writing Day, comment on Instagram posts, write a diary, practise free writing.
Make your every day a Speaking Day.
Join English Speaking Club, read out loud, record yourself!
How do you like the plan?

2️⃣ Believe in Yourself
Your English Is Probably Better Than You Think It Is!
Do you ever find yourself saying or thinking things like…
“I make too many mistakes”
“I’m afraid to speak, because other people might not understand me.”
“I’ve been studying for ages, but my English is still bad.”
When I start speaking to my potential students, I realize their English is usually much better than they think.
Yes, of course there is room to improve.
But you already have good English skills, and I can understand your speaking.
Try to focus on what you CAN do, not what you can’t do yet.
Here’s a nice video on the topic to have a good laugh 😉

3️⃣ Never compare your English speaking skills to others’.
Don’t compare your beginning to someone else's middle, or your middle to someone else's end. Don't compare the start of your second quarter of life to someone else's third quarter.
Jon Acuff
Just focus on your progress.

5️⃣ 5 minutes a day is better than nothing!
Here is a list of 5minute activities to improve your English.
🔹Use a language learning app. My favorite apps are Memrize, Voscreen and Word Up where you can practise your English with AI!
🔹Look around and name 5 objects. Look up a word which you don’t know. Make short sentences. Repeat several times a day in different places.
🔹Scroll up this Channel, there are a lot of interesting articles, quizzes, quotes.
🔹Write a diary. Describe your previous day. Remember to mention not only events but also your feelings.
🔹Start reading a book. Read for 5 minutes at a time. Read out loud something you would like to remember.

🇬🇧 Here's what happens if you take a break from practicing English.
American writer Jhumpa Lahiri compared a foreign language to a fragile muscle that needs to be trained, otherwise it will weaken.
And indeed . If the language is not used, words are forgotten, rules are confused, speaking and listening skills get weaker.
To maintain the level of English, you do not have to constantly study it. You can simply use it, and development will occur naturally.
🔹 Watch movies in English, and start with those that you have watched many times and love very much. In this case, there is no need to follow the plot, you can enjoy the native voices of the actors and the English language.
🔹Subscribe to YouTube channels according to your interests: yoga, travel, cooking, etc. There is progress where there is interest.
