@FCBayernEN: Germany's lineup the last time they faced Northern Ireland in Belfast. #NIRGER https://ift.tt/2HYJvB7
@FCBayernEN: Joachim Löw: "After the defeat against Holland, we were under pressure today and had to overcome some difficulties. We did not start well. We should have scored the second goal earlier then." #NIRGER https://ift.tt/2HWJ8XS
@FCBayernEN: Marco Reus: "In the first half, it was an even game. They had really good chances. We knew that we would get opportunities after the break as they had invested so much and would grow tired." #NIRGER https://ift.tt/2UJaTbr
@FCBayernEN: Kai Havertz: "We have a young team that still has a lot to learn. Such games take us forward" #NIRGER https://ift.tt/2N73odo
@FCBayernEN: Marcel Halstenberg: "It was a tough match. Northern Ireland pressed us for 90 minutes and the atmosphere didn’t make it any easier. Thankfully, my goal sort of flipped the switch for us." #NIRGER https://ift.tt/2Q0F7rE

Here are some quick hitters on the match: There were times where Germany look as disjointed and sloppy as they have in a very long time. There were errant passes, poor decisions, mistimed runs, missed runners, and just overall careless play at times. In the end, though, Die Mannschaft started to put things together and applied major pressure to Northern Ireland, which ultimately paid off in the form of two goals. The two, non-handball calls were interesting. I think you could have easily justified calling a handball on both, though Julian Brandt’s attempt was far less egregious than Timo Werner’s shot. On another day, maybe one or both get called as it’s tough to know exactly what constitutes a handball any more. Marcel Halstenberg’s half-volley was an absolute beauty. In truth, if Kimmich is going to play a central midfield role, you could do a lot worse than Halstenberg and Lukas Klostermann as an outside-back tandem. Marcel Halstenberg: "It was a tough match. This is not to say Kroos is done or that he should be cut, but he’s also not above being taken out of the lineup either. Julian Brandt: "We had some problems to find our game.
