Media Swear words on my Internet? Oh noes!!!!11 Faux-outrage is all the rage lately. Bayern Munich has better things to do than punish Ribery to appease the “haters.” Bonne année 2019! Franck Ribery opened the new year with a bang heard round the internet. A few days ago, he shared a video of himself together with SaltBae, the Turkish restauranteer famous for his stylish salt-sprinkling. The gold-leaf covered steak Ribery was served purportedly cost €1200, duly making headlines at Bild and other newspapers (here at BFW, we didn’t even put it in the “Daily Schmankerl,” the only place it belongs). No better way to start the year than with a dash of salt and a visit to my Turkish brother #SaltBae #fr7 #ELHAMDOULILLAH ♥️ pic.twitter.com/O5ztj4mueq— Franck Ribéry (@FranckRibery) January 3, 2019 Media franckribery7 at Instagram Franck Ribery promises to “insult some mothers.” The expense of Ribery’s conspicuous consumption was too much for countless critics, though, and a torrent of ill will flooded Ribery’s social media accounts. The Bayern star went to bed promising he’d “have to insult some mothers” the next day. He did not disappoint. In an Instagram story (still online as of this writing), also shared on his Twitter account, Ribery gave his critics a piece of his mind. His message: Media franckribery7 at Instagram Franck Ribery’s message to his critics. For 2019, let’s dot our i’s and cross our t’s ... let’s start for the envious, the angry, undoubtedly born from a broken condom: f*ck your mothers, your grandmothers and your whole family tree. I don’t owe you anything. My success is due above all to God, myself, and my loved ones who believed in me; as for the others, you’re nothing more than stones in my shoes!Ribery then addressed his critics in the press specifically: Media franckribery7 at Instagram Franck Ribery’s message to his critics in the press. Next, regarding these pseudo-journalists who have always been negative critics of myself, my actions (latest example: the price of what I eat!) ... When I make gifts (because I was taught to give when I receive a lot...) Why doesn’t any big national media publish that? No, you prefer to talk about the vacations I take with my family, you scrutinize my actions and gestures, what I eat, etc.! Oh yes, for trivialities…
Franck Ribery to discuss his future at Bayern Munich soon
FC Bayern Muenchen v FC Schalke 04 - Bundesliga MUNICH, GERMANY - FEBRUARY 09: Franck Ribery of FC Bayern Muenchen looks on during the Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Muenchen and FC Schalke 04 at Allianz Arena on February 9, 2019 in Munich, Germany.Franck Ribery has not officially bade Bayern farewell yet. The Frenchman seems open to staying on, if possible. Meanwhile, Ribery has no regrets over Salt Bae and “stakegate.”Franck Ribery has been a Bayern player for over 12 years now, helping the club to multiple Bundesliga titles and other silverware along the way. Although sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic strongly suggested that the current season would be Ribery’s last at Bayern Munich, King Franck himself still has not decided his future come the end of the season. In a recent interview with L’Equipe, as transcribed by Bild, Ribery said he plans on sitting down with the club’s front office in a couple of weeks to discuss his plans:We’ll see how the next few weeks go. I’ll sit down in the coming weeks with the bosses and my agent Alain [Migliaccio]. I’ll continue with Bayern, if I can still give them everything. I’ve spent a third of my life in Munich and two thirds of my professional life. Bayern took me as I am. I’ll never cheat the club. There’s a true love story between us.As is well known, that love cuts both ways at Bayern Munich. Although it still seems highly unlikely that Ribery would be extended yet another year, his comments make you wonder.Ribery also addressed the extensive criticism he received after he posted a video of himself having a golden-leaf steak presented to him by the internet sensation known as “Salt Bae.” The media had a field day with the brief clip, knocking the fact that the golden steak cost an estimated €1200. Ribery responded in a profanity-laced Instagram post and was subsequently fined by Bayern Munich. No better way to start the year than with a dash of salt and a visit to my Turkish brother #SaltBae #fr7 #ELHAMDOULILLAH ♥️ pic.twitter.com/O5ztj4mueq— Franck Ribéry (@FranckRibery) January 3, 2019Ribery has no regrets, though, over his expensive excursions and defended his actions. He feels that his private life should not be judged and felt scapegoated, even though several other footballing icons have posted videos with Salt Bae:In my private life, I do what I want. Many other players go to [Salt Bae] to eat, exactly like me. But no one ever talks about them. But there are videos of me!This would appear to be the final act in what’s been dubbed “steakgate,” unless media outlets decide to launch another attack at Ribery for publicly defending himself in L’Equipe. Can we finally stick a knife in this and call it done?Read more...
