Netherlands Portraits - UEFA EURO 2024 Photo by Alexander Scheuber - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Xavi Simons is on Bayern Munich’s radar. Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons was on loan with RB Leipzig last season and caught the eye of Bayern Munich. Before that, though, Simons was identified by then-Leipzig executive Max Eberl as a legitimate prospect, which led to said loan. Now, with Eberl hunkering down in the Bayern Munich front office, Simons is firmly on the radar of the Bavarians. Let’s take a look at the developing story:Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia)Xavi Simons is one of Bayern’s main transfer targets for this summer. Max Eberl is pushing internally to get this move done.Falk added more on his own X account: Xavi Simons (21) is one of the main transfer-targets of FC Bayern this Summer❇️ internally Max Eberl, Head of Sport, puts pressure on this transfer❇️ Eberl worked already with Simons at RB Leipzig❇️ Simons has contract at @PSG_inside til 2027@SPORTBILD @altobelli13Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg⤵️ As revealed and now confirmed: #Xavi, a transfer target for FC Bayern in summer ✔️ @SkySportDEX account @iMiaSanMia captured more of Plettenberg’s report: Xavi Simons is not just a name being discussed at Säbener Straße, but is a concrete transfer target for Bayern this summer. First exploratory talks have taken place. Max Eberl has never lost contact with the player after signing him for Leipzig last year - and is now trying to bring him to Bayern. Leipzig are pushing to keep him for another year.Fabrizio Romano (as captured by @iMiaSanMia)Max Eberl is pushing for Xavi Simons as he signed him for RB Leipzig a year ago and was very convincing in talks with the player. Bayern are also keen on a potential loan deal, with PSG still not planning to sell the player now. Netherlands v France: Group D - UEFA EURO 2024 Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images Bayern Munich might be splashing some serious cash... Now that Bayern Munich — allegedly — has Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise in its crosshairs, the first step in an attacking refresh seems to be complete (barring any last minute changes). According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich is now making its push to ink Xavi Simons from Paris Saint-Germain: Exclusive | There are concrete negotiations: FC Bayern are pushing to sign #Xavi now!… the 21 y/o is the desired target for the offense. Max Eberl wants him! ▫️Concrete talks about a loan with an obligation to buy of more than €60-70m ▫️ Bayern are optimistic about being able to finalize the deal. But Leipzig still have hopes as well! But it is a very complicated arrangement: PSG, PSV, RB and Bayern, all involved. @SkySportDEThe acquisition of Olise seems like it could make things complicated as it pertains to Simons, but Bayern Munich might be eying up quite the double. Training Holland -Training Men Photo by Roy Lazet/Soccrates/Getty Images Will Bayern Munich get this deal done? According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich has agreed to personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons and his management team. However, the Bavarians still need to work out an agreement with PSG to get the deal fully over the finish line: Understand FC Bayern have already agreed the most important personal terms with #Xavi and his management! Max Eberl is not giving up and is working on reaching an agreement with Paris/Eindhoven. Negotiations ongoing. Bayern definitely want him now! A potential deal also depends on Xavi‘s final decision as RB Leipzig is still in the race. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman commented on Bayern Munich’s interest in Simons as well. “Xavi is a big talent and big talents can play anywhere. He has already shown that in the Netherlands and last season in Leipzig. He is part of the Dutch national team - and when you have achieved that, you can also play for Bayern Munich,” Koeman told Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Xavi, his family and his entourage are very serious. They are thinking carefully about which step is the best for him. Just like they did when he went from Eindhoven to Leipzig. I don’t know anything more than that because we are busy with the EUROs. But I wish each of my young players the best possible club to develop further.”If the deal does get finalized, it would represent yet another block in the rebuilding experience for the Bavarians, who could bring in both Simons and Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise to join a group that already includes Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané, and Bryan Zaragoza. Clearly, some chips will have to fall to accommodate the new bodies arriving (assuming the deals get finalized). Netherlands v England: Semi-Final - UEFA EURO 2024 Photo by Joris Verwijst/BSR Agency/Getty Images That would be something (if true)... According to a report from L’Equipe (as captured by @MediaParisien via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich made an outlandish bid on a loan agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for star attacker Xavi Simons:Bayern have taken the lead on the loan of Xavi Simons in recent hours. Both Bayern and RB Leipzig want a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Some sources indicate that Bayern’s offer is worth €90m.If that number seems insanely high to you, well, you are not the only one. FC Bayern München v RB Leipzig - Bundesliga Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Second place is first loser as they say... While Bayern Munich has not been officially rejected by Paris Saint-Germain attacker Xavi Simons, the club is probably fighting a losing battle, as the Dutchman continues to favor a move back to RB Leipzig per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg: FC Bayern have not yet received an official rejection from #Xavi. They haven’t given up hope. But the clear tendency is that Xavi will stay another year in Leipzig. No agreement between Bayern and PSG in sight. And it’s Xavi‘s tendency to continue with RB. The announcement is planned after his vacation. That’s why Bayern is trying to sign Désiré #Doué now. Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA/Getty Images Harry Kane vs. Erling Haaland, who ya got? The difference between Haaland and Kane might be something Bayern fans can relate to (talkSport)If there is one critique of Harry Kane’s game at Bayern Munich, it is his propensity for — sometimes — disappearing from his striker position to become more active in the build-up, which can put him out of position for scoring opportunities on occasion. Interestingly, Gary Lineker says that Kane’s desire to drop deeper is what make him — somewhat — less effective than Manchester City’s Erling Haaland as a striker: Ex-City star Richards brought up Kane dropping deeper and getting involved in play for England at Euro 2024, before highlighting Haaland is not interested in doing that, opting to stay high up the pitch instead. And Lineker believes this allows Haaland to be more profitable in front of goal. The former England striker said: “I thought it highlighted as well the importance of the way Haaland plays and plays so high. Because if he constantly spins behind, defenders will get nervous so they drop a little bit deeper.“Therefore, your midfield players will have more space behind. “Whereas if he did drop 20 yards into midfield, then he actually crowds it out more so there’s no space for those midfield players. So it’s very important.”And he thinks if Kane adopted Haaland’s positioning, he’d bag more goals. He continued: “I think we did talk about this in the summer with England, because Kane likes to drop. But if he can stay higher, then you can create a little bit of space in behind. I think he does that brilliantly and he’s that perfect striker where he’s patient enough. He doesn’t care if he touches it ten times or 50 times in the game. He cares about how much he touches it into the back of the net.”Lineker is echoing some of the critique Bayern Munich fans have had of Kane (who has been spectacular otherwise during his time in Bavaria). Should Kane eschew that willingness to help in the build-up?Cancelo taking the money and heading to Al Hilal (@FabrizioRomano)It appears as if João Cancelo is finally getting that move away from Manchester City that he has been wanting all summer: João Cancelo to Al Hilal, here we go! 1. FSV Mainz 05 v RB Leipzig - Bundesliga “Call me Bayern... call me now.” | Photo by Juergen Schwarz/Getty Images MOAR ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS!!! Bayern Munich are reportedly still interested in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons. This certainly has the makings of a lengthy story to it, with the club having pondered a splurge for the player for a while now. Recent reports have hinted that Bayern might be looking at the player as a plan B in the event that a dream Florian Wirtz signing falls through. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) reports that while there are no new talks between the club and the player, Bayern would have a chance if they decided to pursue his signing with intent. The fleet-footed attacking midfielder is capable of playing all 3 positions behind the striker and can also thrive as a false-9, much like the profile of a certain Jamal Musiala. #Xavi remains on FC Bayern’s list for the summer, but there are currently no new talks between Max Eberl and the player’s camp, and no negotiations are underway.

You can look at it two ways, OK the league form is not great but there’s some pretty big possibilities to have success here in the last three or four months. AFC Bournemouth v Brentford FC - Premier League Photo by Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images Germany travels to Italy...are you ready? Madrid takes lead on Huijsen (ESPN)Bayern Munich might have bigger fish to fry this summer, but the Bavarians have been linked to Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen several times. Most consider getting Huijsen to be a longshot for one primary reason — the supposition that he wants to go to Real Madrid. As it turns out, Huijsen might get his rumored wish: Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is “leading the casting” for a new centre-back at Real Madrid, according to Marca. The newspaper says Madrid are “intensifying their scouting reports” on various defenders, in case they decide to sign one this summer. As well as 19-year-old Huijsen — who’s just been called up by Spain for this week’s games — the names of Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté, RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba and Arsenal’s William Saliba are all mentioned. A report in Diario AS, meanwhile, adds that Huijsen “meets the criteria” for a Madrid signing: namely his age, experience in a top league, and quality to reach the highest level.Per Fabrizio Romano (via @iMiaSanMia), though, Bayern Munich is not out of the mix (nor are Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, and Newcastle United) just yet:Bayern sent their scouts several times to follow Dean Huijsen and they keep having his name on their list. Chelsea, Newcastle and Liverpool are also closely monitoring the situation. Release clause is worth £50m (€60m) valid from this summer.Bayern Munich still should consider adding a center-back even if it is not Huijsen, but the youngster is appealing nonetheless. As for Real Madrid, it could get its man, as the young center-back looks to be one of Europe’s most promising defenders. Leipzig sets market for Simons (@Plettigoal)If Bayern Munich really does want Xavi Simons this summer, it might want to free up €80 million: RB Leipzig want €80m for #Xavi if he decides to leave this summer, as per @philipphinze24. For Xavi a departure is possible, but staying is not ruled out either.Leipzig aim to make a significant profit after signing him from PSG for €50m plus add-ons last winter. Simons is a player who is rumored to be in the crosshairs of Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl, but that price could be prohibitive if Bayern Munich is truly going to pursue Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. (The Hard Tackle)Despite the emergence of Jonas Urbig, Bayern Munich might be keeping one eye on the potential goalkeeper market for the summer: Mile Svilar might have a decision to make on his future in the summer as the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich express an interest.According to Corriere della Sera, Mile Svilar emerges as a target for Chelsea and Bayern Munich ahead of the summer. The AS Roma keeper has been in a good run of form for the Serie A giants, as he may have a big career decision on his hands in the close season. Many top teams are expected to enter the market for a goalkeeping signing, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich one of those eager to bring in a stopper. There are plenty of options evaluated in the market, and starting with the Premier League giants, have a visible problem between the sticks.Svilar also has Bayern Munich’s interest, with the Bavarians in the market for a keeper with the view of a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer. The latter has not shown any signs…
RB Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund- 1. Bundesliga Photo by Ulrik Pedersen/NurPhoto via Getty Images Is it too late for Bayern Munich to make a move for Xavi Simons? According to a report from journalists David Ornstein, Simon Johnson, and Seb Stafford-Bloor of The Athletic (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich has held talk with the representatives of Xavi Simons, but has not yet begun any discussions with RB Leipzig about a transfer: Bayern have held talks with Xavi Simons’ camp since Jamal Musiala’s injury, although they have not initiated club-to-club talks. Chelsea have also inquired, but any move would depend on exits.Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg also checked in with an update on Simons, but the German’s information seems to indicate that board member for sport Max Eberl is driving the interest, while Simons is focused on a move to Chelsea FC: Talks between Chelsea and #Xavi Simons’ camp, which also includes his brother Faustino, will continue today. The goal is to reach a verbal agreement. Xavi is open to a move to #CFC. Talks with Leipzig will follow in due course. In the event of a transfer, Chelsea can imagine playing with two number tens. Arsenal are so far only waiting in the wings. As for FC Bayern, he remains a personal topic for Max Eberl. At present, however, there is still no progress despite stalled negotiations regarding Nick Woltemade. Over the weekend, it was reported that Simons would reject an advance from Bayern Munich in favor of a move to the Premier League. At this point, there is no reason to doubt that even if the Bavarians might now be ramping up interest in the attacker. One thing to keep an eye on from afar — there have been a few stories of late that make it seem as if the Bayern Munich front office and supervisory board might not be in full alignment on player pursuits or how potential transfers might be used if they sign with the Bavarians. Again, there is no reason to sound any alarms, but it is worth monitoring. With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Bayern Munich has reportedly also exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. It might also just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Finally, we have a note Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO and his recent slam on Bayern.
