James Rodriguez bolts locker room within 10 minutes of the final whistle
Media The Colombian star has been frustrated with his spot on the roster and made a quick exit after Bayern’s disappointing draw with Ajax. Rumors were already swirling that James Rodriguez was frustrated with Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovač. After the squad’s extremely disappointing 1-1 draw with Ajax in the Champions League today, the Colombian seemed to add fuel to the fire, making a conspicuously hasty exit from the locker room after the match.James had surprisingly been left on the bench in favor of Javi Martinez. He did not enter the game until the 62nd minute when he replaced Arjen Robben. While it would only be speculation to say that James may have felt slighted, his earlier frustration with Kovač likely came into play with his decision to make a quick exit from the Allianz Arena. @SPORT1 #fantalk pic.twitter.com/RQIC7hsJuz— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) October 2, 2018Silent lightning-fast exit by @jamesdrodriguez. Already at 23:02 o’clock, just 10 minutes (!) after the final whistle, the Colombian sped out of the arena freshly showered. Frustration potential seems high. @SPORT1 #fantalkWith three disappointing results in a row, frustration inside and outside of the Bayern locker room is certainly growing. The upcoming days and games should yield some idea of how the roster will react to the disappointment of the last two weeks. Read more...
Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez “out for several weeks” with possible ligament damage; Martinez and Gnabry with muscular issues
Olympiacos FC v Bayern Muenchen: Group B - UEFA Champions League Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Bongarts/Getty ImagesBayern Munich’s sporting director confirmed that Lucas Hernandez has seriously injured his ankle. Javi Martinez and Serge Gnabry also experienced less serious problems.A Pyrrhic victory at Piraeus: Bayern Munich held on to beat a stout Olympiacos away 3-2, but lost the second key central defender in as many games as Lucas Hernandez went down with an apparent ankle injury in the second 59th minute and had to make way for Jerome Boateng.Bayern has now confirmed the injuries online (FCBayern.com) and in speaking to the press (Bild, Sport1). Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Sport1,„Er wird länger ausfallen. Einige Wochen!“ @Brazzo zu @LucasHernandez @SPORT1 #fantalk— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) October 22, 2019“He will be out for a long time. Several weeks!” Brazzo on Lucas Hernandez.Salihamidzic also criticized the French federation’s decision to play Hernandez against Bayern’s wishes during the international break, although it was knee injury that was ailing him at the time.Head coach Niko Kovac said they fear ligament damage, but do not know yet for sure:Hernández has problems with his ankle. We have to see whether the ligament was also affected. He has severe pain on the inside of his ankle; that’s why we had to take him out. It’s very frustrating.Hernandez left the stadium on crutches:Sieht nicht gut aus bei @LucasHernandez. @SPORT1 #fantalk pic.twitter.com/W9BHUtScaz— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) October 22, 2019Javi Martinez’s substitution after halftime was not a tactical decision, but rather a result of discomfort in his thigh. Kovac said, “Martinez had muscular problems in the first half; we didn’t want to take any risks. So we reacted.”Serge Gnabry also was substituted off after he “felt something,” according to sporting director Salihamidzic.Read more...

Those are rookie numbers. Make it €300m and we’ll talk. Now here’s a surprise — according to a report by <a href="https://www.sport1.de/news/transfermarkt/2022/07/joao-felix-zum-fc-bayern-das-lief-wirklich-mit-dem-star-von-atletico-madrid-transfer-news">Sport1</a>, <a href="https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com">Bayern Munich</a> seriously considered signing Joao Felix from <a href="https://www.intothecalderon.com">Atletico Madrid</a> this summer. Even after securing the transfer of Sadio Mané from <a href="https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/">Liverpool</a>, the Bayern bosses made enquiries for the young Portuguese forward. Did they see him as a potential replacement for the (potentially) outgoing Robert Lewandowski? We’ll never know, because Atletico rejected any deals outright.Per the report, even a bid of €80m wouldn’t have satisfied Andrea Berta, the sporting director of the Madrid-based club. Atletico purchased Joao Felix from Benfica for a staggering €120m in 2019 — partially funded by Bayern’s €80m purchase fee for Lucas Hernandez that same year — and are looking for at least a three-digit million figure to be convinced to sell. These numbers eventually convinced Bayern Munich to pull out.According to the report, the Bavarians were willing to include Benjamin Pavard in the deal to lower the price, but Atletico were having none of it. The Frenchman has seemingly been relegated to the role of human discount coupon this summer, as the club would later offer him to <a href="https://www.blackwhitereadallover.com">Juventus</a> in order to facilitate the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt. The Italians also rejected the deal, which has prompted Bayern to go all-in with a rumored bid of over €75m. You can read more about that story <a href="https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com/2022/7/8/23199580/manchester-united-brazzo-nagelsmann-bayern-munich-sule-matthijs-de-ligt-juventus-transfer-chelsea">here</a>.The links to Joao Felix may seem strange from an outsider’s perspective, but this wouldn’t be the first time that someone associated with Bayern showed the Portuguese youngster some interest. Back in 2020, Hansi Flick was seen speaking to Felix while the player was catching up with his former teammate Tiago Dantas following Bayern’s game against Atletico Madrid in the <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/champions-league">Champions League</a> group stages. We even had a video of the event:This scene is describing so much: About Hansi <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Flick?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Flick</a> and Tiago Dantas while the talent is speaking with João Félix. <a href="https://twitter.com/SPORT1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@SPORT1</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/fantalk?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#fantalk</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FCBAtleti?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#FCBAtleti</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FCBayern?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#FCBayern</a> <a href="https://t.co/8aMMLHAqmB">pic.twitter.com/8aMMLHAqmB</a>— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) <a href="https://twitter.com/Plettigoal/status/1319019909930692608?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 21, 2020</a>As for where Felix fits in the Bayern starting lineup — Sport1 speculates that he could have been used as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski or even Serge Gnabry, both of whom have been linked with moves away from the club this summer. Their sales would certainly free up funds to make the transfer possible, but for now it looks like Atletico Madrid will not budge. Felix still has four years remaining on his contract, so Bayern have no leverage.Keep an eye on this one, it looks like a transfer Brazzo may want to revisit in a few years. In the meantime, French…
