Arjen Robben mocks PSG
Arjen Robben has poked fun at big-spending Paris Saint-Germain on the eve of Bayern Munich’s key Champions League away match in the French capital. With Anderlecht and Celtic also in the pool, the PSG-Bayern clash at Paris’ Parc de Princes on Wednesday could well decide the winner of Group B.“Paris have certainly given out a few more euros than us, but money doesn’t score goals, quality on the pitch scores goals, good teams score goals,” said Robben.PSG signed Neymar from Barcelona for a world record 222 million euros ($264m) and recruited Kylian Mbappe from Monaco last month on an initial loan deal which is set to be made into a permanent move for 180 million euros next year. Bonjour #Paris! 👋🇫🇷 #PSGFCB http://pic.twitter.com/l3rUVEjAvg— FC Bayern English (@FCBayernEN) September 26, 2017Read more...

There’s nothing left for him at the U-17 level, then France’s U-17 national team coach continues, concluding the interview by stating that he would have already played professionally if he was in another club than Paris Saint-Germain.Le Parisien – a top-tier French newspaper – labelled the PSG versus Bayern Munich match in the Champions League’s round of 16 as “Le Grand Soir” (The Big Night). For Qatar’s sports washing project in Paris – the two games against Bayern Munich define their entire season. For the second time in the space of three years, their academy player crashed the Parisian party with an unwanted homecoming.Kingsley Coman grew up in the Parisian suburbs – and like many other talented kids – joined the PSG Academy before he turned 10 years old. He became the youngest player to play for PSG on 17 February – two months after Gonfalone’s comments – at the age of 16 years, eight months, and four days. Two years later, he left his hometown. The reason was that he feared his progress would fade as his hometown club focused their progression on new multi-million signings such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura, and Ezequiel Lavezzi.COULD PARIS WIN THE WORLD CUP!?

So, World Cup silly season is in full swing and we here at #BFTB thought we would fully get on board with it.

We have selected a squad of players that are born and raised in #Paris and it’s surrounding banlieues— Boys from the Banlieues (@BFTBFootball) October 21, 2022Despite Christophe Galtier’s decision to start 16-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery last night, PSG has done a dreadful job of retaining local talent since the takeover by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011. The club has let go of a handful of talented players – the costliest being the Paris-born Kylian Mbappe. While Paris provides more World Cup players than any other city, their football team is more focused on improving governmental reputations through extraordinary signings. And so far, none of it is working for PSG. Last night, their season took a huge blow – losing to another “super club” that is in so many ways their exact opposite on the transfer market. Yes, Bayern Munich — like PSG – is one of the richest clubs on the planet, has a Qatari connection, and doesn’t shy away from the occasional multi-million signing. But, especially in recent years, it’s become clear that Bayern is focusing on growing their starting eleven, rather than purely buying one.On Tuesday, Bayern featured a team with Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, Josip Stanišić, and Kingsley Coman – five players that cost the club less than €50 million in transfer fees. While teams like West Ham, Everton, and Aston Villa have spent as much as Bayern Munich in the last ten years in the transfer market, Die Roten has had more success than teams such as Manchester City and PSG on the pitch. It’s proof that Bayern is the best-operated ‘Super-Club’. Chelsea FC v Paris Saint-Germain: Final - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by Image Photo Agency/Getty Images Wil Bayern Munich go big at goalkeeper after this season? According to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, Bayern Munich will join Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Manchester United, and Galatasaray in chasing goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma should be opt to leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent after the 2025/26 season: Despite the last rumors, Gigio #Donnarumma has no decided his future yet. There is no agreement to extend with #Paris, as of now. So he could leave. #ManCity #Chelsea, #ManchesterUnited, #Galatasaray and #BayernMunich have shown interest in the italian goalkeeper. #transfersWith Manuel Neuer potentially entering his final season, Donnarumma could be very appealing to the Bavarians. While Jonas Urbig is on the roster and has likely been deemed “the next one”, it could be tough for the Bavarians to pass up a chance at bringing in a proven commodity like Donnarumma who has a Champions League title and a European Championship under his belt already. Bayern Munich is getting Liverpool’s Luis Diaz...now what? Let’s talk through why we should take a step back, relax, and try to make the best of the move. Also, we’ve got some ideas about what might be next for Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade, why kicking the tires on Benjamin Šeško could be a good idea, the prospect of Gianluigi Donnarumma at Bayern, Jamal Musiala’ comeback plan, and MORE!
