The AAP, which sued Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and represents 67,000 pediatricians in the United States, received $34,974,759 in government grants in fiscal year 2023
The grants are listed in the GPA Single Audit Report for 2023-2024.
Some of the money was used to promote childhood vaccinations in the United States and abroad, to target online medical "misinformation" and "disinformation," to develop a regional pediatric pandemic network, and to emphasize telemedicine for children
The federal grants are in addition to the financial contributions the AAP receives from several large pharmaceutical companies, including Eli Lilly, GSK, Merck, Moderna and Sanofi.
