The United States, Denmark, and Greenland signed a new defense agreement to strengthen Arctic security and NATO cooperation.
More from Denmark/Greenland signing
"Is ownership off the table for Greenland", reporters shouted - to which trump just smiled and did not respond.
Greenland's PM spoke as well before the signing. Said they will always be a friend of the U.S., and that "our security is your security."
POTUS and the PM's signed the deal and held it up - then the room clapped and POTUS shook their hands.
A reporter said that the president looks happy today even though he didn't get ownership of Greenland. He smiled and didn't engage.

TRUMP: "So today, I'm asking all nations in the shield of the America's to formally designate narco-terrorists as common threats to stability and apply crushing sanctions against all 24 U.S. designated foreign terrorist organizations."
"Until I came along, nobody designated anything. You were on your own, but now you're not on your own anymore."
President of Paraguay spoke afterwards.
On Venezuela and Cuba:
Trump: "Cuba is not looking so good"
Trump talking about Rubio's role in Cuba:
"Marco's parents were born in Cuba. It's like a great story, and he wants to figure it all out. I think he has figured it out. So we're gonna someday in the near future drop him off in the middle of Cuba. Just on the way back. On the way back from Iran, we're gonna have one of those big, beautiful aircraft carriers fly them in, drop them off."
Keiko Fujimori, president of Peru spoke afterwards.
Colombian Vice President Jose Manuel Restrepo told Trump that they almost lost their democracy during their last election. He applauded trumps efforts saying it has helped their democratic efforts.

Fuller POTUS Remarks from the Grand Foyer.
As always, please check the audio for accuracy.
"From the time of my first election in 2016, President Xi and I have forged a friendship, a truly great friendship, actually built on mutual respect and the vital interests of our people."
"We have spent time together all over the world, from Germany to Argentina, Japan to South Korea, and Beijing to Palm Beach, Florida. But remarkably, this is our first time meeting together here at the White House, and as President Xi has already seen, a lot has changed since he was last year."
"President Xi and Madam Peng arrive at an important moment for America, the 250th anniversary of our founding. Tomorrow we will visit the National Archives to see some of the greatest treasures of that proud history, including the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights."
"We will also see artifacts testifying to the long and cherished relationship. Really, something that is so incredible cultural exchanges between China and the United States, just as our ancestors reached across the ocean centuries ago from trade to learn and to build a better world."
"Our two countries do really the same thing, and we're very proud of it. Can the relationship? Working together, President Xi and I have made tremendous strides on the issues facing our two countries."
"During my last visit last May, we created the Board of Trade, and through that, it's a brand new mechanism, something that's been unbelievably successful."
"Our teams have been working to encourage a more balanced trading relationship, including the new market access for American farmers and ranchers."
"During this visit, we will also discuss pressing issues concerning security, technology, and superintelligence (SI) The decisions we make in these areas today can promote peace and prosperity for decades and decades to come."
We focus on our common interests and I'm confident there is much we can achieve throughout history.
"Pursuit of those common interests has connected our people across the vast oceans of big, tremendous distances and many differences, and even made us allies in World War II."
"Look at the greatness that we had together fighting in World War II. Brave American pilots volunteered to come to China and fight for the very survival of the legendary country, that legendary Flying Tigers group. They were just unbelievable."
"And it was the United States Marines' encounter with Chinese people that inspired the Marines to adopt a Chinese phrase they still use today, 'Gung Ho.' "
"The Marines use it as an expression of great enthusiasm, but in Chinese it literally means working together."
"Just as our people worked together to win that war, President Xi and I will continue working together to forge a better future for both of our nations."
President Xi, Madame Peng, thank you once again for making this historic visit, and welcome to the United States of America.

Fuller Xi remarks.
Xi's remarks, where he announced, among other things, a new couple of pandas for the Atlanta zoo: ("in just a few days, the giant pandas "Ping Ping" and "Fu Shuang" will arrive at Zoo Atlanta to meet the American public")
"I have come to the United States at President Trump’s invitation to carry forward our friendship, expand cooperation, and enhance the well-being of our two peoples. Amidst the changes in the world, the times, and history, China and the United States—two major powers—bear a historic responsibility to promote human development and progress"
"DUring President Trump’s visit to China earlier this year, we agreed to build a constructive strategic stability relationship between our two countries—a move widely welcomed by our peoples and the international community. I look forward to working with President Trump to steer the great ship of China-US relations toward steady and long-term progress. —We must strengthen communication"
"We must cooperate sincerely. Our interests are deeply intertwined, and there is vast room for cooperation. While China-US cooperation cannot solve every problem in the world, many global issues would be difficult to resolve without it. China’s door to the outside world remains wide open; we welcome US enterprises to invest and do business in China, and we hope the US side will treat Chinese companies fairly, working together to lengthen the list of cooperative achievements and shorten the list of issues"
"Both China and the United States are major powers in artificial intelligence; we have the capability and the responsibility to develop and manage AI effectively, ensuring that its development remains under human control and benefits the people".
"There is no need for China and the United States to shy away from competition; however, such competition should be benign and bounded—a race where we strive to excel alongside one another, rather than a zero-sum gladiatorial contest. Both sides must uphold the bottom line of avoiding conflict and confrontation, and we are fully capable of finding the right way for two major powers to coexist on this planet"

Trump waved away the questions.
“We had a great meeting,” he said.
Xi didn’t respond.
Trump said Xi “is an expert on stone aside from many other things and he loves good granite
Trump then led Xi to the helipad, with both leaders pointing down at the granite and talking through interpreters.
Then Trump took Xi up the steps of the presidential helicopter and inside the aircraft.
They left Marine One after a couple of minutes
Trump could then be seen pointing Xi’s attention towards the ballroom.

This is a menu from tonight's state dinner that was sent earlier by the White House:
The menu showcased American ingredients with subtle Chinese influence, bringing the culinary traditions of both nations together.
The meal will begin with a toast of Schramsberg "Blanc De Noir," honoring the historic “Toast to Peace” shared by President Nixon and Premier Zhou Enlai in Beijing in 1972.
The same American sparkling wine served at that historic gathering is still enjoyed at White House functions today.
First Course
Yellow Squash Velouté
Wild Mushroom Fricassée
Crispy Pancetta
Scallion Oil
The first course offers a refined and silky-smooth velouté made of sweet yellow squash. This course is gently blended to highlight its delicate seasonal flavors of earthy wild mushrooms, sautéed with fresh herbs. Together, these ingredients create a rich fricassee, complemented by crispy pancetta for a savory and smoky contrast. A finishing drizzle of scallion oil adds vibrance and a subtle allium brightness to the dish.
Second Course
Sesame Crusted Sea Bass
Braised Baby Bok Choy
Roasted Garden Eggplant
Sauce Verte
The second course is prepared delicately with fresh sea bass and coated in toasted sesame seeds. This combination created a fragrant, nutty crust while keeping the fish tender. The fish is served with crisp baby bok choy and roasted garden eggplant, creating lightly caramelized flavors. The dish is finished with a vibrant sauce verte of fresh herbs, which added brightness, acidity, and a garden character.
Dessert
Vanilla Crémeux & White House Honey Ice Cream
Walnut Frangipane
Sour Cherry Confit
The dessert course is a smooth vanilla crémeux with a vibrant sour cherry confit center, topped with a rich walnut frangipane. The dessert’s fruit-shaped form is complemented by a delicate ice cream made with harvested White House honey.
ENTERTAINMENT
Several performances will take place during the formal dinner, headlined by Mr. Christopher Macchio, a classically trained tenor who performed at the 2025 Presidential Inauguration. The evening’s entertainment will feature performances by military musicians from the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, including “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, “The Commandant’s Own” United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, the United States Army Chorus, and the United States Army Strings.
FLORAL & DÉCOR
The décor for the evening is an expression of warmth and celebration and draws on the color red’s longstanding cultural significance throughout Chinese history. Urns showcase overflowing red blossoms. Tables are dressed in rich red linens and adorned with dahlias and ranunculus.
Among the seasonal blooms, the tables feature vermeil from the White House collection. The Reagan State Service is featured on the tables. These details blend Chinese artistry and American tradition together, showcased within the timeless elegance of the White House.

President Trump ignored a few shouted questions from the press about his discussions with President Xi and his ban of certain outlets earlier this week. He thanked the pool and went inside.
The US and China’s flags flanked the South portico rooms and a short red carpet stretched into the diplomatic room.
In the background, the sound of sporadic hammering, drilling and the clang and rattle of steel from the ballroom construction site just off to the side of the south portico.
