Authoritative insider: The Elder Scrolls VI will reveal the secrets of the Elder Scrolls, and a new showcase is just around the corner
The highly anticipated fantasy role-playing game The Elder Scrolls VI from Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios was first announced more than eight years ago, but fans will not have to wait nearly as long for the next showcase.
In an exclusive article about the state of affairs at Microsoft, The Verge senior correspondent Tom Warren reported that The Elder Scrolls VI will be reintroduced as early as November 2026.
The upcoming presentation will include the reveal of The Elder Scrolls VI’s subtitle, which, as fans have already guessed, is the word Sentinel. Thus, the game’s full title will be The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.
According to Warren, nothing substantial besides the subtitle will be presented at the upcoming showcase. However, the journalist has uncovered some details about the setting and story of The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.
According to Warren, the events of The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel will take place in the province of Hammerfell, while the story will, for the first time in the series, reveal the secrets of the mysterious artifacts featured in the franchise’s title—the Elder Scrolls.
Over the past few months, Bethesda has shown The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel to Xbox leadership. Earlier, CEO Asha Sharma and chief content officer Matt Booty shared their impressions of the game.
The Elder Scrolls VI was announced at E3 2018, and entered active development in the summer of 2023. According to reports from Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, the game is still “at least two or three years” away from release.

“My Mom Became a Crater”: Kojima Reveals the First Trailer and Plot Details of the Death Stranding Isolations Anime Series
The animated series Death Stranding Isolations, based on Death Stranding, the courier action game from Japanese studio Kojima Productions led by Hideo Kojima, has received its first trailer and plot details.
The events of Isolations will take place in North America after the continent is united through the chiral network in Death Stranding. As the country rises from the ashes, the bonds holding it together give rise to new and unforeseen consequences.
At the center of the story will be a girl who has decided to sever all ties with society—a series of chance encounters brings the heroine face to face with an unfamiliar world. The debut trailer for Death Stranding Isolations is presented below.
Material on YouTube
Death Stranding Isolations is being created by E&H Production. Takayuki Sano is serving as director, while Tow Ubukata, author of “Mardock Scramble,” has joined the project as screenwriter.
Death Stranding Isolations will premiere in 2027 on Disney+. The series promises traditional, hand-drawn 2D animation, character designs by Ilya Kuvshinov, and an expansion of the Death Stranding universe.
Meanwhile, Kojima Productions presented a poster for the mysterious horror game OD: Knock featuring the game’s lead star, Sophia Lillis. Judging by the poster, German actor Udo Kier, who passed away last autumn, is still involved in the project.
OD: Knock is being developed in partnership with Xbox and has no release date. At the same time, Kojima Productions is preparing to release the innovative spy action game Physint (also with Xbox’s support)—the game will be released no earlier than 2030.

Six years later, Ubisoft will fulfill Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players’ cherished wish, while Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe prepares to emerge from the shadows
Following the release of the latest major patch for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, French publisher Ubisoft shared details about the franchise’s games currently in development and a long-awaited update for one of the series’ biggest hits.
As Jean Guesdon, head of content for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, announced in an autumn address to players, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla audience has surpassed 40 million users over the six years since its release.
To celebrate this achievement, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive a New Game+ mode on November 5, a feature players have been hoping for over the years. It will offer:
the ability to replay the game while retaining most of the progress achieved during the previous playthrough;
an optional progression mode in which Eivor’s overall power level is affected by gear, runes, and mastery;
new runes, achievements, an item storage system, and rewards, including the Master Assassin appearance (inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows);
the unlocking of the divine quality tier for all gear items;
a new currency (mythril) for upgrading divine equipment.
As for the Assassin’s Creed games currently in development, Guesdon shared updates on two projects:
Codename Invictus (a multiplayer PvP game) has successfully completed closed testing and is progressing in an “exciting direction” based on participant feedback;
Codename Hexe (a dark open-world action RPG) is moving forward confidently and will emerge from the shadows in 2027. Players have already decoded the encrypted message accompanying the address—it contained a notification from the Animus (see the image below).
What Ubisoft is not currently working on is any new Assassin’s Creed game remakes. According to Guesdon, the teams are focused on the next chapter in the franchise’s history, with projects that have not yet been announced (featuring different settings and stories).
Meanwhile, production on the Netflix series based on Assassin’s Creed is nearing completion. Ubisoft was unable to show anything new from the project, but urged fans to stay tuned for updates. The show does not yet have a release date.
In 2027, the Assassin’s Creed franchise will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Ubisoft plans to mark the occasion with new announcements, updates, rewards, and moments shared with the community. More details will be revealed in the coming months.

Marvin Mode, Photo Mode, Mod Editor and More: Gothic 1 Remake Receives Its First Content Update
The remake of the cult classic Gothic from the now-defunct Piranha Bytes continues to be improved. The fantasy action RPG Gothic 1 Remake, published by THQ Nordic and developed by Alkimia Interactive, has received patch 1.1.
Update 1.1 is available on all target platforms for Gothic 1 Remake — PC (Steam, GOG), PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The update’s release was accompanied by the overview gameplay trailer embedded below.
The main features of version 1.1 are the promised Photo Mode and the so-called Marvin Mode — a debug mode from the original Gothic that includes a wide range of legitimate cheats, such as teleportation, invulnerability, summoning creatures, and more.
In addition, the developers of Gothic 1 Remake have added customization options for the Nameless Hero, including head shaving and tattoos, as well as the ability to pass time while sitting on benches, chairs, and other pieces of furniture.
Furthermore, forged weapons now deal increased damage, the Nameless Hero has more audio reactions, and dying underwater is now accompanied by a new animation. The patch also fixes a number of bugs (see the full list of changes on Steam).
YouTube video
Alongside update 1.1, the developers released a beta version of the mod editor, providing access to the language and source code of Gothic 1 Remake’s scripts. There is still no release date for the full version.
Gothic 1 Remake was released on June 5. The game received “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, with an 88% rating, and sold 500,000 copies during its first week. Alkimia Interactive denies that it is developing a remake of Gothic 2.

FromSoftware Disabled the Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 Multiplayer Without Warning — What Happened
In 2022, the trilogy of fantasy action RPGs Dark Souls from Japanese studio FromSoftware lost its multiplayer functionality for several months due to a dangerous vulnerability. More than four years later, the servers for two of the three games have been taken offline again.
Through the official microblog of its support service, FromSoftware reported that it had temporarily disabled the servers for Dark Souls 2 (including the Scholar of the First Sin edition) and Dark Souls 3 on all target platforms.
The situation resulted from the discovery of a certain “server issue” affecting Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3. FromSoftware has not specified the nature of the problem or when multiplayer services will be restored.
“We will share updates once we have information regarding the restoration of the servers. We apologize for the inconvenience,” reads the statement from FromSoftware’s support service.
It is possible that the situation is related to two critical vulnerabilities in the PHP programming language, which is used by approximately 70% of websites worldwide. The vulnerabilities were “patched” on October 21, but attackers had already begun exploiting them in real-world attacks.
As the The Gamer website noted, on October 22, The Pokémon Company took Pokémon Home, Champions, and Sleep offline amid cybersecurity concerns. Access to the projects was restored within 24 hours.
The situation has affected only two games in FromSoftware’s catalog on modern platforms. It remains unclear whether Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring, Elden Ring Nightreign, and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will also be affected.

Star Wars: authoritative insider explained why Electronic Arts really shut down BioWare and cancelled Mass Effect 5
Last week, publisher Electronic Arts decided to shut down the legendary Canadian studio BioWare and cancel a new science-fiction role-playing game in the Mass Effect series. An authoritative insider revealed the reason behind the tragedy.
As a reminder, the closure of BioWare and the cancellation of Mass Effect became part of EA’s restructuring after its transition under the control of an investor consortium led by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. The reshuffle left the company with $18 billion in debt.
According to information from Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, the main reason behind the tragedy was Electronic Arts’ decision to favor the unannounced shooter Star Wars Battlefront 3 from DICE and Respawn Entertainment.
According to Schreier, because of its difficult financial situation, Electronic Arts could not afford to develop two expensive science-fiction action games, each of which would have required hundreds of millions of dollars.
Executives considered the potential Star Wars Battlefront 3 to be a less risky and more predictable project than Mass Effect 5, and therefore chose not to back BioWare’s game. EA has always been more inclined toward shooters than RPGs.
Other factors included the failures of BioWare’s most recent releases. Mass Effect: Andromeda (2017) was ridiculed, Anthem (2019) became a catastrophe, while Dragon Age: The Veilguard (2024) delivered a result 50% worse than expected.
In addition, last summer, EA Sports veterans Cam Weber and David Tinson were promoted, while Laura Miele, a supporter of BioWare and Mass Effect within EA’s leadership, was pushed into the background.
Schreier concluded that the key factor determining BioWare’s closure was the reality that gaming companies have cut tens of thousands of jobs over the past three years.
“Game budgets are growing exponentially, unlike sales. Gaming companies are moving development outside North America and focusing on the biggest franchises. And Star Wars is one of the biggest,” Schreier noted.
