On carefully looking, you will see that these are two series mixed up together.
1, 3, 5, 7
2, 3, 6, 11
First series logic is :
First term = 1
1+2 = 3
3+2 = 5
5+2 = 7

Second series logic is :
First term = 2
2+1 = 3
3+3 = 6
6+5 = 11

Hence, required term will be the next term of 1st series,
i.e. 7+2 = 9
