IELTS WRITING TIP | @IELTS_8 ⚜️

Don't write too many words
✅

It’s a bad idea to write more than 300 words in task 2 and more than 200 words in task 1.

•Firstly, it’s difficult for the examiner to read long essays and he/she will check your writing less carefully.

•Secondly, you are likely to make more mistakes and have less time to check what you wrote.

IELTS Myth #6 ⬆️🦠 | @IELTS_8

Reality ⬇️
Some people say that the more linking words you use, the better. But this is not true, the criteria the examiners look at, say "Don't overuse and Don't underuse linking words". 3 or 4 linking words are enough in one essay. Linking Words 👈

🎯 WRITING TASK 2: The Mistake That Keeps You at Low Score

❌ The mistake:
No clear position in questions like:
“To what extent do you agree or disagree?”

⚠️ Why is this a problem?
If your position is unclear
➡️ scoring above 6.0 becomes very difficult.

✍️Example:
💪Weak:
“University education is important for society.”

💪Strong:
“I strongly agree that university education should be free as it promotes equal opportunities.”
