مرکز اسلامی آمریکای شمالی (ICNA) چهل و چهارمین مجمع سالانه خود را در واشنگتن برگزار نمود که بیش از 24000 نفر در این گردهمایی شرکت کردند و بزرگترین گردهمایی مسلمانان امریکا را رقم زدند.

مطالعات اخیر نشان می دهد جوانان در مقایسه با نسل های قبل، کمتر مذهبی هستند. نظرسنجی‌های صورت گرفته در 27 کشور نشان می‌دهد در مقایسه با بیست سال قبل، دین نقش کمرنگ‌تری را در زندگی افراد دارد، اگر چه دو نفر از هر ده نفر معتقدند تغییرات خاصی در این موضوع صورت نگرفته است.

Recent studies document younger adults being less religious than older generations. Across 27 countries surveyed, more think religion plays a less important role than a more important role compared with 20 years ago, but there is substantial regional variation on this question. About two-in-ten say there has been no change.
North American and European publics are especially likely to see religion playing a diminished role in recent times. Majorities in both the U.S. (58%) and Canada (64%) say religion has a less important role than it did 20 years ago.
