The goal of the project is to provide digital editions of more than 500 manuscripts and 827 paintings from the Islamicate world broadly construed. Together these holdings will represent in great breadth the flourishing intellectual and cultural heritage of Muslim lands from 1000 to 1900, covering mathematics, astrology, history, law, literature, as well as the Qur’an and Hadith. The bulk of the collection consists of manuscripts in Arabic and Persian, along with examples of Coptic, Samaritan, Syriac, Turkish, and Berber.
The primary partners are Columbia University, the Free Library of Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania with significant contributions from Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College...

بر اساس گزارش یک کارشناس، حمله اخیر به یک قبرستان مسلمانان در یونان نشان‌دهنده افزایش اسلام‌ستیزی و نژاد‌پرستی در یونان و در کل منطقه اروپا می‌باشد. در شهر الکساندروپولیس که در بخش غربی یونان واقع شده است، حدود 150000 ترک زبان زندگی می‌کنند. در این حمله بر روی سنگ قبرهای مسلمانان نمادهای نازی و نماد جناح راست سیاسی یونان با اسپری توسط متجاوزان کشیده شده است.
طبق گزارش سازمان امنیت و همکاری اروپا و دفتر مؤسسات دموکراتیک و حقوق بشر از 128 جنایت نفرت‌آمیز که توسط پلیس یونان به ثبت رسیده است، تنها 46 مورد پیگرد قانونی داشته و فقط 6 مورد محکومیت به دنبال داشته است...

💠 معرفی پروژه «قرآن اروپایی: کتاب مقدس اسلام در دین و فرهنگ اروپا (1150- 1850 م)»
«قرآن اروپایی: کتاب مقدس اسلام در دین و فرهنگ اروپا (1150- 1850)» یک برنامه تحقیقاتی است که توسط شورای تحقیق اروپا حمایت می‌شود و با هدف بازنویسی تاریخ قرآن در اروپا طی سالهای 1150 الی 1850 میلادی و بیان دیدگاه‌های اروپاییان در مورد قرآن و اسلام در این دوره‌ی تاریخی شروع به کار نموده است.
در این برنامه تحقیقاتی در مورد نقش مهم قرآن بر روابط و تعاملات با اسلام و بر گفت‌و‌گوهای بین گروه‌های مختلف مسیحیان با یکدیگر بحث و گفت‌و‌گو می‌شود و از این جهت نام آن "قرآن اروپایی" گذاشته شده تا نقش مهم کتاب مقدس مسلمانان در شکل‌گیری مباحث مختلف تاریخی در این دوره خاص مورد بررسی قرار گیرد...

The European Qur’an. Islamic Scripture in European Culture and Religion 1150-1850 (EuQu) is a research program funded by the European Research Council (ERC). This description is based on the project proposal submitted to the ERC and approved for financing.
EuQu will rewrite the history of the European Qur’an (c.1150-1850), placing European perceptions of the Qur’an and of Islam into the fractured religious, political, and intellectual landscape of the period. We will argue that the Qur’an plays a key role not only in polemical interaction with Islam but also in debates and polemics between Christians of different persuasions. We speak of the “European Qur’an” to emphasize the significant role of the Muslim holy book in different intellectual and cultural debates over this period in different parts of Europe...
