Living with Honor: Never Selling Faith for Worldly Gain

On the Day of Ashura,
Imam Hussain (as) declared:

ألا وَ إنَّ الدَّعِیَّ ابنَ الدَّعِیِّ قَد رَکَزَ بَینَ اثنَتَینِ:
بَینَ السِّلَّةِ وَ الذِّلَّةِ، وَ هَیْهاتَ مِنَّا الذِّلَّةُ!
Behold, the illegitimate son of the illegitimate son has forced us between two choices:
the sword or humiliation, and far from us is humiliation!

🤲 Wisdom from Nahjul Balagha

Then Allah, the Glorified, created for inhabiting of His skies and populating the higher strata of his realm new (variety of) creatures namely the angels. With them He filled the openings of its cavities and populated with them the vastness of it circumference. In between the openings of these cavities there resounds the voices of angels glorifying Him in the enclosures of sublimity, (behind) curtains of concealment and in veils of His Greatness. And behind this resounding which deafens the ears there is the effulgence of light which defies the approach of sight to it, and consequently the sight stands, disappointed at its limitation.

Imam Sadiq (as) said:

"Whoever walks to the grave of Hussain (as), God records a thousand good deeds for them with every single step, erases a thousand of their sins, and elevates their status by a thousand degrees."

مَنْ أَتَی‌ قَبْرَ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ مَاشِياً كَتَبَ اَللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ وَ مَحَا عَنْهُ أَلْفَ سَيِّئَةٍ وَ رَفَعَ لَهُ أَلْفَ دَرَجَةٍ

Part 🔟: Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil

In his will to his brother Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah, Imam Hussain (as) said:

«إنّی لَم أخرُج أشِراً وَ لا بَطِراً وَ لا مُفسِداً وَ لا ظالِماً، وَ إنَّما خَرَجتُ لِطَلَبِ الإصلاحِ فی أُمَّةِ جَدّی، أُریدُ أن آمُرَ بِالمَعروفِ وَ أنهى عَنِ المُنکَرِ»
Indeed, I did not rise up out of arrogance, nor amusement, nor to cause corruption, nor oppression.
Rather, I have only risen up to seek reform in the nation of my grandfather. I desire to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil.
