Imam al-Sadiq (as) said:

«مَن لَم یَأتِ قَبرَ الحُسَینِ (ع) وَ هُوَ یَزعُمُ أنَّهُ لَنا شیعَةً حَتّى یَموتَ فَلَیسَ هُوَ لَنا شیعَةً»

Whoever claims to be from our Shi'a, yet never visits the grave of Hussain (as) before he dies, is not truly a Shi'a of ours.

Indeed, there exists a burning heat in the hearts of believers for the martyrdom of Hussain (as) that will never cool down.

"Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad (S), attends to the visitors of the grave of her son, Hussain (as), and seeks forgiveness for their sins."

إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی‌ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ تَحْضُرُ زُوَّارَ قَبْرِ اِبْنِهَا اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ فَتَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ ذُنُوبَهُمْ.

«فَکانَ مَعَهُ فی دَرَجَتِهِ وَ مَنزِلَتِهِ»
"He will be with him in his rank and status,"
then recited the verse:
«وَالَّذینَ آمَنوا وَ اتَّبَعَتهُم ذُرّیَّتُهُم بِإیمانٍ ألحَقنا بِهِم ذُرّیَّتَهُم»
"And those who believed and followed their descendants in faith We will join them with their descendants." (Tur: 21)

Imam Hussain (as) declared:

ألا وَ إنَّ الدَّعِیَّ ابنَ الدَّعِیِّ قَد رَکَزَ بَینَ اثنَتَینِ:
بَینَ السِّلَّةِ وَ الذِّلَّةِ، وَ هَیْهاتَ مِنَّا الذِّلَّةُ!
Behold, the illegitimate son of the illegitimate son has forced us between two choices:
the sword or humiliation, and far from us is humiliation!

"Whoever walks to the grave of Hussain (as), God records a thousand good deeds for them with every single step, erases a thousand of their sins, and elevates their status by a thousand degrees."

"Indeed, Al-Hussain (as) was killed while in distress; thus, it is a right binding upon Allah, Majestic be His remembrance, that no distressed person visits him except that Allah relieves their distress."
