God's love for His people is:
1. Eternal (Jer 31:3)
2. Unfailing (Ps 36:7)
3. Sacrificial (Jn 3:16)
4. Unconditional (Rm 5:8)
5. Unbreakable (Rm 8:38-39)
6. Perfected in Christ (1 Jn 4:9-10)
His love isn't just felt - it's demonstrated and secured forever through the cross.

October 4: Defibrillators for Sardis
#Devotional
Ezekiel 9:1โ11:25; Revelation 3:1โ13; Job 33:8โ18
We cover up the dead places in ourselves with all sorts of regalia. We fill the emptiness with fine clothing, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, or relationships in which the other is set up as god. Underneath the trappings, though, weโre decaying.
Of all the churches addressed in Revelation, the church in Sardis receives the most intense critique. Sardis was a wealthy city and a military stronghold. And the church, like the city, seemed to be alive and well. But Christ, speaking truth through Johnโs revelation, uncovers and names the decaying parts: โI know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, and you are dead. Be on the alert and strengthen the remaining things that are about to die, for I have not found your works completed before my Godโ (Rev 3:1โ2).
The community in Sardis needed more than a stern scolding. They needed immediate resuscitation. They had so compromised their faith that many among them were spiritually dead. Those parts not already dead were dying. And the faรงade only perpetuated continued decay.
What was the answer? Was there hope for Sardis? Is there hope for us?
Sardis could be brought back from the edge of death, but only through repentance: โTherefore remember how you have received and heard, and observe it, and repentโ (Rev 3:3). Urgency is paramount: โBe on the alert,โ Christ tells them. โI will come like a thief.โ
We have received the same instructions. Like Sardis, we mightโif we try hard enoughโmeet othersโ expectations. But we shouldnโt lie to ourselves. God sees our outward works, but He also knows our hidden hearts. Name your need, repent, and find hope in Christ, the only one who can fill the emptiness.
In what areas of your life do you feel empty? How can you name your sin?

October 4 - What Is Living Water?
#LifeOfChrist
โJesus answered and said to her, โIf you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, โGive Me a drink,โ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.โ She said to Him, โSir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?โ . . . Jesus answered and said to her, โEveryone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal lifeโโ (John 4:10โ11, 13โ14).
Jesusโ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well is another opportunity for Him to teach profound spiritual truth through a metaphor. When their conversation began, He was the thirsty one, and she the one with the water. Now He spoke as if she were the thirsty one and He the one with the water. Her confusion is not unexpected. She did not understand Jesus was talking about spiritual realities. The โliving waterโ He offered was salvation in all its fullness.
But she was skeptical of His ability to provide the living water He offered. So Jesus patiently answered her skeptical question: โEveryone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.โ Here was Jesus offering her the living water of spiritual life to quench her parched, needy soul.
Ask Yourself
What activities of Jesus in your life share some common qualities with waterโits clarity, its refreshment, its cleansing, its sustenance, its replenishment? Praise Him for each of these things as He brings them to mind.

4. October 4 (Sunday)
Dear Daughter,
Even the ground under snow is not idle โ it is insulated, protected, gathering strength no eye can see.
Worship today trusting that what looks frozen in your marriage may actually be protected, not abandoned.
God works under the surface as much as on it.
'He gives snow like woolโฆ who can stand before His cold?' (Ps 147:16-17).
What in your marriage looks frozen but might actually be protected?
