When you can't even pray, Jesus "is at the right hand of God, interceding for us" (Romans 8:34).

The basics of Godโ€™s moral law have been inscribed on our hearts by God Himself. Rom 2:15 says the human conscience bears witness to that law. So whether the thoughts of our minds accuse or excuse us, the conscience bears witness to our guilt.

WEEK 2 โ€” The Long Night & Watching (Oct 5โ€“11)

7. October 7 (Wednesday)

Dear Daughter,
The North Star never moves โ€” that's exactly why sailors trust it in the dark.
Be the fixed point in your marriage during its uncertain seasons. Let your faith be the thing that doesn't shift when everything else does.
Steadiness is its own kind of leadership.

'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever' (Heb 13:8).
Where does your marriage need you to be the fixed point right now?

The Bible is the out breath of God. Itโ€™s not God breathing into manโ€™s words. Itโ€™s not God breathing into manโ€™s thoughts. Itโ€™s God breathing out His words.

Heavenly Father, help us to love ourselves less and instead to love You and to love our neighbors more. Give us hearts that are satisfied in You alone. Empty us of anything that displeases You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Never fear that there is a bottom or limit to God's goodness. He is goodness and self-giving all the way down.

Our commission as the Church isnโ€™t to reform the world when it comes to social issues. We are commanded to preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
โค5
The local church is where:

- Saints are equipped.
- Christ is worshiped.
- Children are taught.
- Marriages are strengthened.
- Sinners are confronted.
- God is glorified.

Don't treat it like an optional weekend activity.

October 2026: Stewardship and Faithful Living

๐ŸŒดWeek 1: Biblical Stewardship of Time and Talents

๐Ÿ“ Q13 Answer Commentary

๐ŸŽฏ Correct Answer: A

โ€ข The Scripture: Ephesians 5:20 (ESV) explicitly frames our gratitude: "...giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

โ€ข The Takeaway: True biblical stewardship of our attitude means choosing gratitude in all seasons. It redirects our eyes away from current anxieties and focuses entirely on the enduring nature of the Father.

โ€ข Watch Out: Option C is a major cross-reference trap using the famous phrasing from 1 Thessalonians 5:18!

October 2026: Stewardship and Faithful Living

๐ŸŒดWeek 1: Biblical Stewardship of Time and Talents

๐Ÿ“ Q14 Answer Commentary

๐ŸŽฏ Correct Answer: D

โ€ข The Scripture: Romans 12:8 (ESV) sets the standard: "...the one who contributes, in generosity [or liberality, depending on your target lexicon style]; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."

โ€ข The Takeaway: Stewardship of our finances and resources must be free from ulterior motives, personal calculations, or reluctance. True kingdom giving is marked by an open, single-minded hand.

โ€ข Watch Out: Option B is a highly convincing trap that borrows the famous "cheerful giver" language from 2 Corinthians 9:7. It sounds doctrinally sound, but it doesn't match the specific text layout of Romans 12!

October 8: Absence of Pain, Presence of God.

#Devotional

Ezekiel 17:1โ€“18:32; Revelation 7:9โ€“8:13; Job 34:16โ€“30

When life is difficult, we often take refuge in knowing thereโ€™s a life to comeโ€”one in which weโ€™ll be free from pain and the worries of this world. The thought brings us comfort. During the difficult times, the life to come might even be more appealing than the present.

Revelation shows us a picture of what new life for those redeemed by Christ will look like: โ€œThese are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Because of this, they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple, and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them. They will not be hungry any longer or be thirsty any longer, nor will the sun ever beat down on them, nor any heatโ€ (Rev 7:14โ€“16).

In Revelation the life to come appears as a shelter from all the traumatic and stressful things afflicting the first-century churchโ€”hunger, thirst, and heat. Yet we shouldnโ€™t simply define this new life as a time when weโ€™ll be free from the stress and pain of this world.

This new life is defined by Godโ€™s presence. The sacrifice of the Lamb has made life with God possible again. If we are clothed in His righteousness, we can stand before the throne of God. Revelation illustrates what our relationship with God is and is destined to be. We will serve Him day and nightโ€”as we were created to doโ€”and He will shelter us. The Lamb will shelter and shepherd us, leading us to โ€œsprings of living watersโ€ (Rev 7:17).

When we long for relief, we might be yearning for a renewed sense of Godโ€™s presence among us. We long for His presence because it is free from difficulty and filled with His incredible love.

What are you truly longing for?

October 8 - The Samaritan Womanโ€™s Reaction

#LifeOfChrist

โ€œSo the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men, โ€˜Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?โ€™ They went out of the city, and were coming to Himโ€ (John 4:28โ€“30).

Leaving her jar at the well, the woman hurried back โ€œinto the cityโ€ and, gathering a crowd, excitedly said to the men, โ€œCome, see a man who told me all the things that I have done.โ€ A stranger who knew all about her past was no ordinary man. Jesusโ€™ impact on her was so profound that she did not hesitate to share the news about Himโ€”even with those familiar with her sordid reputation. Jesus had read her heart and forced her to face herself. She had already recognized her need (4:15), her sin (4:19), and who He was (4:26). Her immediate desire to witness to others was now the clinching piece of evidence that her conversion was genuine.

โ€œThis is not the Christ, is it?โ€ The Greek construction of this question implies a negative or at least a doubtful answer. The woman described her conversation with Jesus and humbly deferred the question of His identity to the men. They were so impressed by her excitement and sincerity that they went to investigate Him for themselves. Though no specific number is given, the implication is that the womanโ€™s excited testimony had stirred up a sizeable group.

Let the testimony of this woman work as a barometer of your own desire to proclaim the gospel as the Lord gives you opportunity.

Ask Yourself

The incessant demands of our daily wants and needs always serves as a willing excuse for putting off Christโ€™s command to proclaim our faith. What are some of the โ€œwaterpotsโ€ you need to put down from time to time so that you can be free and available to share what Jesus has done for you?

The God of Scripture is not some impersonal force, particle field, or energy mass.

He is independent (Acts 17:25)
He is eternal (Ps 102:12)
He thinks (Is 58:8-9)
He communicates (Heb 1:1-2)
He acts in history (Heb 2:4)
He loves (Jn 3:16)
He is kind (Acts 14:17)
