Oct 24 (Sat) β€” RIDDLE-ORACLE

"The Two Builders and the Sound the Rain Made"

One man builds his house on rock, another on sand β€” and from the outside, in the sunshine, the two houses looked identical (Matt 7:24-27). No one could tell the difference by admiring the walls. The difference was hidden entirely in the foundation, invisible until the rain came, the floods rose, and the winds beat against both houses with equal force. The storm did not create the weakness β€” it only REVEALED what had always been there. 🌧️🏚️

Here is the riddle folded into the parable: Christ does not say the wise man avoided the storm. Both men faced the SAME rain, the SAME flood, the SAME wind (v.25, 27 β€” nearly word for word identical). The only variable was what lay beneath the surface, decided long before the clouds ever gathered. Your marriage will not be spared a storm because you are faithful β€” but a faithful foundation is the only thing that determines whether the storm ends in scars or in ruins. πŸͺ¨

And notice what the rock actually IS β€” not merely believing Christ's words, but DOING them (v.24). Hearing without practicing is sand disguised as stone; it feels solid until the water starts moving underneath it. Every ordinary act of obedience in your marriage β€” the patience nobody applauds, the forgiveness nobody sees β€” is a stone being laid now, long before you know which storm it's for. πŸ”₯

❓ What is your marriage's foundation actually made of β€” hearing the Word, or doing it, day by unglamorous day?
❓ If the rain came tonight, what would it reveal that the sunshine has been hiding?
Let us search the Word together and check the foundation before the clouds gather.

In hard times, don’t make your ability to understand God’s ways the condition for trusting him.

Your moral deeds cannot erase the guilt of your sins before God. If your own good works could save you, Jesus died for nothing.

Repenting and trusting in Jesus alone is the only way to be saved.
Why have we as a church lost this passion?!?

"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

- Acts 20:24
Christians, your daily work is an opportunity to honor the Lord. Do not complain, cut corners, or disrespect your supervisors. Labor with complete integrity as if Jesus were your direct manager. Let your coworkers see biblical humility.
Justification:
β€œChrist, you are my righteousness.”

Sanctification:
β€œChrist, you are my holiness.”

Glorification:
β€œChrist, you are my blessed hope.”

✨ Week 4: Investing in Eternity

πŸ’Ž Q5 Commentary: The Architecture of Glory and Affliction

🎯 Correct Answer: A

β€’ πŸ“– The Scriptural Blueprint: 2 Corinthians 4:17 (ESV) maps the equations, β€œFor this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,”

β€’ πŸ’‘ The Theological Insight: Expository theology views suffering through a lens of absolute sovereignty. Paul does not merely state that suffering is followed by glory; he declares that the affliction is actively preparing and producing the glory. He places the realities on a cosmic scale: the visible trial is "light and momentary" (fractional and brief), while the invisible result is an "eternal weight of glory" (massive and unceasing).

β€’ ⚠️ Strategy Breakdown: Options C and D utilize genuine Pauline concepts from 1 Peter 1:7 and Romans 5:3-5 to form a dense cloud of orthodox cross-references to catch casual readers off guard.

⚑ Prophetic Proclamation:
Every sorrow in the hand of the King is a chisel cutting out an eternal weight, yet you stand mute in the court of truth. The 45-minute window is slipping away into history. Wake your hearing, step forward, and cast your vote!

✨ Week 4: Investing in Eternity

πŸ“¦ Q6 Commentary: Identifying Capital Portfolios Before God

🎯 Correct Answer: D

β€’ πŸ“– The Scriptural Blueprint: Luke 12:21 (ESV) seals the indictment, β€œSo is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

β€’ πŸ’‘ The Theological Insight: True greed is fundamentally a failure of accounting. The rich fool possessed a highly operational secular accounting system but was systemically blind to the ledger of heaven. When Christ defines the ultimate spiritual disaster, He uses a sharp, devastating phrase: not rich toward God. To accumulate resources for localized ease while remaining empty of good works, faith, and devotion before the Sovereign King is the ultimate form of eternal bankruptcy.

β€’ ⚠️ Strategy Breakdown: Options B and C artfully reuse exact terminology from the Sermon on the Mount and adjacent chapters to catch readers who recognize the generic words but miss Luke's specific legal verdict.

⚑ Prophetic Proclamation:
Your earthly barns cannot contain the day of accounting, and you have less than 45 minutes to expose your heart to the text! Break the stone of delay. Vocalize your faith, press the choice, and stand firm!

October 25: Good Opportunities and Difficult Decisions

#Devotional

Daniel 1:1–2:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:1–3:5; Job 40:3–12

When Daniel is invited to dine at the king’s tableβ€”a great honor reserved for the favored (Dan 1:1–4)β€”he turns down the offer. Instead of eating food and wine fit for a king, Daniel and the other Israelites settle on a diet of vegetables and water (Dan 1:12).

Daniel’s decision seems to contradict human nature. When a good situation comes along (like being invited to eat at the royal table), we often jump at the chance. Yet in doing so, we may fail to consider the ramifications. Daniel knows that eating at the king’s table means compromising Yahweh’s commands against eating certain foods. So when he’s offered a great opportunity, he is bold enough to say no and to offer an alternative (Dan 1:10–14). Daniel knows that God will provide for those who love Him. He also knows that being in God’s will is more important than anything else, even if it means facing opposition.

Paul’s statement in 1 Thess 2:2 demonstrates that he understood this as well: β€œBut after we had already suffered and been mistreated in Philippi … we had the courage in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.” Opposition did not deter Paul from doing what was right in God’s eyes, just as it didn’t prevent Daniel from keeping God’s commands.

When we’re faced with the promises of this world, how do we react? Do we boldly pursue money, fame, or power? Or do we deny these things for the sake of following God’s will? The purpose to which we’ve been called is too important to be set aside for things that will fade over time. We must be willing to face opposition boldly instead of pursuing what the world has to offer. Even when we have to depend on a miracleβ€”as Daniel depended on God to keep him healthy when others were eating better foodβ€”we must make God’s will the priority. No matter how difficult it becomes, we have to seek God’s will. When we consider that our relationship with God is eternal, what matters is not the opinion of one king, but the opinion of the King of the universe.

What opportunities do you have that are not God’s will?
October 25 - Finished Works Testify to Jesus’ Deity

#LifeOfChrist

β€œβ€˜But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplishβ€”the very works that I doβ€”testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me’” (John 5:36).

John the Baptist’s testimony carried considerable weight; after all, he was the greatest man who had ever lived up to this time (Luke 7:28). But the testimony Jesus was about to introduce was far β€œgreater than the testimony of John.” More convincing than the greatest prophet’s testimony to Christ were β€œthe very works that” He did.

Throughout His ministry the Lord repeatedly pointed to His miraculous works as confirmation of His claim to be the Son of God and the Messiah (cf. 10:25, 37–38; 14:11; Matt. 11:3–5). The gospels record at least three dozen of His miracles, and Jesus performed countless others that Scripture does not record (20:30).

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus was conscious of carrying out the mission the Father had given Him in the energy of the Spirit (Luke 4:14). In John 4:34, Jesus told the disciples, β€œMy food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.” In His High Priestly Prayer to the Father, Jesus declared triumphantly, β€œI glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do” (17:4).

Because Jesus’ works were in perfect harmony with the will of His Father, they testified β€œthat the Father sent” Him. His works were supernatural and in keeping with God’s exact wishes.

Those very miracles, as recorded in Scripture, provide you with a powerful witnessing tool today.

Ask Yourself

What elements of God’s nature are revealed when He performs a miracle in the lives of His people? What is revealed when He withholds the miracle we desire, choosing instead to work His will in another way?
β€œWhoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.” James 2:10

This is one reason we must be justified by faith in Christ, our righteousness, not by lawkeeping.

Worship today believing renewal is not a one-time historical event, but a weekly rhythm available to your marriage.

Roll the stone away again.
'He is not here, for he has risen' (Matt 28:6).

What stone needs rolling away from your marriage this Sunday?
