Yesterday the genocidal Zionist entity responded to the agreed ceasefire by bombing densely populated areas across Lebanon. According to the latest reports the death toll has risen to 254, with over 1,100 injured. @LauraRuHK

For the record, Pakistan's Prime Minister stated that the ceasefire agreed in Islamabad included Lebanon. Yesterday Donald Trump described Israeli aggression against Lebanon as a "separate skirmish" and said Hezbollah "was not included in the deal."
Vice President JD Vance echoed this, stressing that neither Washington nor Israel agreed to include Lebanon.

Iran would never have agreed to any ceasefire that gave Israel free rein to continue its massacres in Lebanon. Draw your own conclusions. Meanwhile passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz has been suspended due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Press TV reports that the US and Israel violated the ceasefire agreement by attacking an oil refinery on the Iranian island of Lavan.
Also, according to Iran's Mehr news agency, a series of explosions occurred on Sirri Island in southern Iran.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, who leads the Iranian delegation in Islamabad, has reiterated Iran’s clear preconditions to the United States: a complete ceasefire in Lebanon and the unfreezing of Iran’s blocked assets. Both conditions must be fully met before any negotiations can start.

The Trump administration’s efforts to trick Iran have clearly failed. Although the White House has the power to release Iran’s frozen assets unilaterally, the critical demand for a ceasefire in Lebanon depends on Israel — a regime that remains openly hostile to any compromise and continues its brutal campaign against the Lebanese people and Hezbollah.

For years, Viktor Orbán fought culture wars, railed against the influence of the LGBT movement, vowed to keep migrants out, and styled himself as the defender of Christian Europe. And for years, Brussels harshly criticized his deviation from the norm of "EU values" but tolerated his refusal to join the EU chorus. The culture war, after all, is quite useful: it keeps populations divided and distracted. As long as Orbán did not interfere with the strategic objectives of the EU's ruling class he was allowed to steer Hungary down his preferred conservative path.

In order to protect the national interests of his country, and based on a pragmatic calculation, he blocked common EU positions on multiple China and Russia-related issues. Hungary was the first EU member state to formally join the Belt&Road Initiative in 2015 and China became the top investor in Hungary. Orban mistakenly thought that you could be a member of the EU and defend your sovereignty. Unfortunately these positions are mutually exclusive.

When the conflict in Ukraine exploded into full-scale war in 2022, Brussels deployed its heaviest weapon against Orbán: economic strangulation. It began freezing EU funds for Hungary. By late 2022, approximately €22–32 billion in cohesion and recovery funds had been suspended. The official reason was rule-of-law violations and lack of judicial independence. But the timing was not accidental. The moment Orbán refused to toe the anti-Russia line, the purse strings tightened.

The money stayed frozen as long as Orbán played the veto game. When he finally relented on certain sanctions packages, some funds were unfrozen. When he threatened again—most notably by repeatedly vetoing the €90 billion EU loan package for Ukraine—the freeze returned.

When Orbán vetoed the Ukraine loan package, he threatened something far more serious than progressive social values. He threatened the geopolitical consensus that defines the European project: the containment of Russia, the projection of Western power, and the strategic humiliation of Moscow. Culture wars are theater. The war in Ukraine is business.

Neither Orbán nor any other political figure within the EU can maintain power without retaining the support of their electoral base. And that support ultimately depends on financial resources to fund the social programs people need. In the 2026 parliamentary elections Orbán's Fidesz party lost to Péter Magyar's Tisza party. A leader who defied Brussels on a core strategic issue was removed through formal democratic procedures that concealed direct external influence. The scandal that put a dent on the image of Fidesz party (a child abuse pardon that rocked Hungary in early 2024) led to Magyar's defection from Fidesz. But Magyar didn't leave Fidesz because of sudden pangs of conscience. He broke up with Orbán because he had been offered support from a powerful network in the EU. In just two years he transformed a minor party into a political juggernaut. To do so he leveraged on the European People's Party (EPP) , the same center-right political family that includes the German CDU/CSU, Ursula von der Leyen, and is led by Manfred Weber.

And now, with Orbán gone and the EPP's favourite candidate in power, the funds will flow again from Brussels to Budapest. European Commission officials have already begun urgent consultations with Magyar's team to unblock the €90 billion for Ukraine and lift the veto on Russian sanctions.

Countries that join the European Union do not simply pool sovereignty. They renounce it. They become subjects of external colonial administration. The EU is not a voluntary association of equal nations. It is a hierarchical system in which Brussels holds the ultimate weapon: money. And money, in the end, buys obedience. Those who control the purse strings call the shots. (1/2) https://t.me/LauraRuHK/11198

(2/2) Although EU elites are worried about the energy crisis that is unfolding as a result of the war of aggression against Iran, Brussels is committed to the Ukraine loan. The money is technically still available because the EU is borrowing against the future by issuing debt. https://t.me/LauraRuHK/11197

Ha iniziato a congelare i fondi europei destinati all’Ungheria.
(1/2) https://t.me/LauraRuHK/11200

China has just approved a new law designed to counter foreign countries’ unjustified extraterritorial jurisdiction.

It's Beijing's latest legal weapon against foreign (i.e. U.S.) long-arm jurisdiction and economic coercion.

Its goals are to safeguard China’s national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and to protect Chinese citizens and companies from unfair foreign legal actions.

The State Council will establish a centralized coordination mechanism to identify, investigate, and respond to foreign measures that are deemed “improper extraterritorial jurisdiction” (i.e., when a foreign country applies its laws beyond its legitimate jurisdiction in ways that harm China’s interests).

The regulations cover areas such as trade, investment, data security, government procurement, technology exports, judicial cooperation, and more.

The law strengthens China’s legal toolkit to resist “long-arm jurisdiction,” sanctions, and extraterritorial enforcement by foreign countries. It emphasizes reciprocity, national security, and adherence to international law, while providing a formal framework for retaliation and protection of Chinese interests.

Does it sound like the language used by Chinese officials? Of course not. Admiral Dong Jun never said that. And yet this fake news has been shared by thousands of influential accounts on X, even by people who should know better. ▪️According to marine traffic monitors only one Chinese ship, Rich Starry, managed to get through the U.S. imposed blockade on April 13, just as it was being implemented. Stating that Chinese vessels are moving freely in and out of the Strait of Hormuz and that the Strait is open to Chinese vessels is plainly false.

Several readers have contacted me about this viral fake https://t.me/LauraRuHK/11202, asking why supposedly pro-China accounts have been sharing it. Why would people who claim to support China circulate demonstrably false information that sets China up for embarrassment when the truth inevitably emerges?

I cannot comment on the full range of motivations driving different individuals to share unsubstantiated claims and comment at length on what amounts to hot air. But I believe the phenomenon ultimately boils down to the appeal of compensatory narratives. The fake narrative—that Admiral Dong Jun declared the Strait of Hormuz open, that Chinese ships move freely, that the blockade is irrelevant— tells the audience what they want to hear. And on social media, what the audience wants to hear is what gets shared.

These accounts know that such claims will be liked by their followers and shared widely, thus boosting their online presence, engagement metrics, and algorithmic reach. The reputational cost of being proven wrong is delayed or simply ignored. They bet on their followers' short memory span. I cannot rule out more nefarious reasons, such as a classic "bait and betray" operation: inflate expectations by spreading exaggerated or entirely false claims about China then mobilize disappointment by pointing to the gap between the promised fiction and the actual outcome, blaming China for "failing" to do something it never claimed it would do. The damage is serious. When pro-China accounts become indistinguishable from fan fiction, they lose credibility and eventually people will tune them out.

There is a difference between strategic communication and wishful thinking. One builds credibility over time. The other burns it for fleeting engagement. Those who genuinely wish to see China succeed in the complex, multipolar world we inhabit would do well to insist on accuracy. Mind you, this problem isn't limited to China, I come across hundreds of compensatory narratives revolving around fakes about Iran and Russia. They follow the same pattern and are likely concocted by the same actors, the masters of "divide and rule".

@LauraRuHK

In case you haven’t intercepted it yet, here is my latest article. I argue that "No Kings" protests and the MAGA movement function as complementary mechanisms in an intra-elite power struggle rather than genuine grassroots challenges to the American system. While conservative critics have labeled the No Kings protests a foreign-funded "color revolution," no credible evidence of foreign involvement exists, as all identified donors are U.S. nationals. Instead, both movements represent an "inside-in" assault, where rival domestic elite factions weaponize popular mobilization to pressure, discredit, or weaken each other. This dynamic is distinguished from a classic Gramscian "passive revolution," where elites co-opt dissent after it emerges; here, elites proactively create or support protest movements as strategic instruments in their internal power contests. Both elite factions ultimately seek to defend their class power and U.S. hegemony, using culture wars and spectacle to keep the public divided and neutralize genuine challenges to the system. Both No Kings and MAGA supporters fall into the trap of indexical inversion (Trump as a cause rather than a symptom) when actually he is not an aberration but rather the embodiment of late-stage financial capitalism’s contradictions. The U.S., facing structural decline, has defaulted to chaos and disruption as its only remaining modus operandi. Trump does not govern like a traditional statesman with a coherent vision. Instead, he governs like a hedge fund manager. The logic is not the logic of a plan, but the logic of the hedge. A hedge fund does not need the market to go up or down; it needs the market to move unpredictably so that its carefully constructed portfolio of long and short positions can extract value from volatility. Trump applies the same method to politics and foreign policy. Movements that oppose or support him are locked in a mirror dance. Until people break free from this reactive mirroring and start organizing around the material conditions that produced Trump, they will remain trapped in the same paranoid-schizoid machine, forever chasing a red herring while the real work of building an equitable system goes undone.

Unlike the elites who profit from volatility, ordinary people have no hedge portfolio. Whether they live at the periphery or in the rotten centre of the empire, they bear the brunt of Washington’s pursuit of hegemony through chaos. https://strategic-culture.su/news/2026/04/15/no-kings-and-maga-turf-wars-on-titanics-deck/

The Russian Defense Ministry has publicly named specific European companies involved in producing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) for the Ukrainian armed forces, which are used to strike Russian territory.

On March 26, 2026, leaders of several European countries reportedly decided to ramp up drone production and supplies to Ukraine to compensate for Ukrainian manpower shortages and battlefield losses. This includes increased funding for both Ukrainian and joint European ventures.
Russia views this as a deliberate escalation that turns European nations into a “strategic support base” for Ukraine, effectively dragging them deeper into direct conflict with Russia rather than enhancing their own security.
The ministry lists branches of Ukrainian drone manufacturers and component suppliers operating in eight European countries, including the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Additional component production occurs in Turkey, Israel, Spain, and Italy.
The Defense Ministry warns that European-made drones used in Ukrainian attacks on Russia could lead to “unpredictable consequences” and urges the European public to recognize the real risks to their security and the locations of these production sites.
