Beijing has already set out its 12- point peace plan so there is no ambiguity there.

China’s successful brokering of a rapprochement between Middle East rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran was a milestone in a far grander plan to counter US-led containment and was consistent with China's Global Security Initiative, first introduced by Mr. Xi a year ago, an effort to apply “Chinese solutions and wisdom” to the world’s biggest security challenges.

The initiative, which promotes “peaceful coexistence,” calls for a new paradigm. Global power should be distributed more equally, while “unilateralism, bloc confrontation and hegemonism”, a reference to the US and NATO, should be rejected. The conflict that the West has framed as a conflict between Russia and Ukraine is actually a conflict between an emerging multipolar world order and US hegemony. Il successo della diplomazia cinese in Medio Oriente, con lo storico accordo tra Arabia Saudita e Iran, costituisce la pietra miliare di un piano più ampio per contrastare le politiche di contenimento adottate dagli Stati Uniti ed è coerente con l'Iniziativa per la Sicurezza Globale introdotta per la prima volta da Xi un anno fa. L'iniziativa prevede l'applicazione di "soluzioni e saggezza cinesi" alle maggiori sfide alla sicurezza che il mondo si trova ad affrontare, promuove la "coesistenza pacifica". Ció richiede un nuovo paradigma: il potere dovrebbe essere distribuito in modo più equo a livello globale, respingendo "l'unilateralismo, il confronto tra blocchi e l'egemonismo", un chiaro riferimento agli USA e alla NATO.
