West cannot stay silent on Kremlin drone attack but won’t admit anything – experts
The strike breaks an unofficial deal between Moscow, Kiev and the West not to target political leaders, analysts warn.

A Ukrainian drone attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s working residences in the Kremlin has shaken the status quo in the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev, a group of experts told RT following the incident. It could also lead to a dangerous escalation possibly involving the use of nuclear weapons, they warned, adding that Russia is bound to retaliate.

Thomas Roeper, a German author and war correspondent currently residing in St. Petersburg, said he was “quite surprised” to hear of the attack, since it clearly violated “an unofficial agreement not to bomb, not to attack places where the leading politicians are.”

“There is no doubt that Russia will have to retaliate,” said Ralph Niemeyer, the head of the German Opposition Group for German Sovereignty and Constitution. “There will be further escalation, even up to the threat of the use of nuclear [weapons], which I think is still possible,” he added.

A Turkish professor of international law and an expert on terrorism, Mesut Hakki Casin, suggested that an escalation may have been the goal of the people who planned the strike. The forces behind the attack might have sought to put the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine “at the center of European warfare” and potentially even provoke Moscow into launching a tactical nuclear strike, he told RT.

“It’s a very unacceptable and a very, very dirty game,” the Turkish analyst warned. Casin also said Kiev may not have been alone in planning and organizing the strike. “This is an organized international attack,” he said.

Ukraine’s Western backers will not be able to ignore the incident in any case, Niemeyer believes. The German opposition figure still anticipates that the US and its allies will try to downplay the incident and “say it was not the Kiev regime, it was not [President Vladimir] Zelensky’s people,” as they did with the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage.

According to Roeper, the attack could also affect relations between Kiev and Washington if the Ukrainians did not inform their backers about the planned attack in advance. “Maybe Washington was not informed, and maybe it was. We will see by the reaction. If Washington was not informed, there will be some angry reaction because this is a quite big danger to attack the president of a nuclear power,” the journalist said.

Two drones targeted the Kremlin in an attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning. One exploded over the Senate Palace, a working residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The second fell in the grounds of the Kremlin, not far from the president’s second working residence, the Great Kremlin Palace. Moscow blamed the incident on Ukraine and has reserved the right to retaliate. Kiev denies any responsibility. (Source: RT) @LauraRuHK

🇷🇺Russian Ambassador to the US Antonov on the drone attack on the Kremlin: “How would the Americans react if a drone hit the White House, the Capitol or the Pentagon? The answer for any politician, and even the layman, is obvious: the punishment will be harsh and inevitable. Russia will respond to a daring and presumptuous terrorist attack. He will answer when he considers it necessary. He will answer in accordance with the assessments of the threat that Kiev has created for the leadership of our country”

Mexico's president asked his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden to stop the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) from funding groups hostile to his government, according to a letter presented to journalists on Wednesday, echoing previous Mexican criticism of U.S. interventionism." The U.S. government, specifically though USAID, has for some time been financing organizations openly against the legal and legitimate government I represent," he said in the letter. "This is clearly an interventionist act, contrary to international law and the relations which should prevail between free and sovereign states."

Mexico in 2021 had sent a similar letter asking USAID to withdraw funding allocated to non-governmental organizations critical of its government. The U.S. has proposed a $63.1 billion 2024 budget for the State Department and USAID, which it says "will make it possible for us to continue to promote U.S. national interests and lead the world in tackling global challenges." China has issued an official clarification on the vote for a UN document which referred to "Russia as the aggressor".

China does not support the description of the Ukrainian conflict as "aggression by the Russian Federation", having voted in favour of a UN resolution on UN-Council of Europe relations.

"China's position on the Ukraine issue has not changed and the voting position has nothing to do with the phone conversation between the two heads of state [Xi Jinping and Zelensky]," China's Permanent Mission to the UN said in an emailed response to queries.

"The 'yes' vote was a vote on the entire text of the resolution and cannot be considered an endorsement of the paragraph," the mission said. @LauraRuHK https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy/article/3219290/china-says-its-stand-ukraine-war-has-not-changed-after-un-vote?module=lead_hero_story&pgtype=homepage

Dmitry Medvedev commented on Borrell calling on Moscow not to use the attack on the Kremlin to escalate.

"It is to the escalation of the conflict that this terrorist attack, carried out by the Kiev authorities under the leadership of the US and with the approval of the EU authorities, will lead. This is what Washington and many of the morons in Brussels want". https://t.me/rian_ru/201708

The US is behind the Ukrainian attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's Kremlin residence, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Attempts to deny this both in Kiev and in Washington - they are, of course, ridiculous absolutely. We know very well that decisions on such actions and on such terrorist attacks are made not in Kiev, but precisely in Washington. And Kiev is already doing what it is told to do," he said.

Peskov added that Moscow knows that it is often Washington, not Kiev, that determines the targets. After that, the USA points out to the Ukrainian military a target for an attack, demanding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces carry out the mission.

At the same time, he stressed that the US also has the last word when it comes to choosing the means of attack.

According to Peskov, the Russian special services received data on the US involvement in the strike against the Kremlin, but it has not been disclosed yet. Washington should clearly understand that Moscow is aware of this, he stressed.

"And understood how dangerous such direct involvement in the conflict was," the presidential spokesman added.

Speaking about possible response options, Peskov did not go into detail, noting that they could be "very different".
We can only be talking about thoughtful and weighted steps in line with Russia's interests, he added.

The Kremlin spokesman also spoke about Putin's reaction to the attack.

"The president always in such complex, extreme situations remains calm, collected, clear in his assessments, in the commands he gives out, so nothing new has happened in this respect," he clarified.
Now there is a usual, working atmosphere in the Kremlin, the spokesman added.
Commenting on the version that the drones were launched not in Ukraine but in a district of the capital, Peskov said he hoped that the truth would be established by a thorough and prompt investigation by special services.

Speaking about the possible impact of the strike on the Kremlin on the celebration of Victory Day on 9 May, the presidential spokesman said that there would be no changes. He explained that an "ordinary parade" was being prepared and the president would be speaking.
But security measures for the Kremlin will be stepped up after the attack, the spokesman added.

"Of course, everything will be beefed up. As it is, everything has already been strengthened both in the context of preparations for the parade, and in general the residence of the president is guarded. And how, in what way (could happen. - Ed. note), this is also <...> a topic for in-depth analysis by our specialists, they will do their job," Peskov said.

Putin is not going to make a special appeal because of the attack or hold an emergency meeting of the Security Council, the spokesman added.

When Ukraine is already set to lose, if slowly, on the battlefield, what is to be gained by taking out a few more Russian tanks if it permanently renders the land a danger to its inhabitants, permeated with toxic dust particles of radioactive heavy metal?

How can this decision be viewed as anything but a spiteful admission that that land is being lost, and that “salting” it is a final act of malice against ethnic Russians in Donbass?

The use of depleted uranium munitions in Ukraine amounts to a last-gasp of desperation and an attempt to contaminate territory Kiev knows it will not regain, for such weapons would not be supplied by Britain and used by Ukraine on land they were confident they would recapture. https://consortiumnews.com/2023/05/02/using-poison-in-ukraines-depleted-hope-of-victory/

"China's National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center and cybersecurity company 360 jointly released an investigation report on Thursday, revealing the long-standing use of cyber attacks by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) against other countries. (...) The CIA is not only an intelligence agency, but also a tool for the US to incite "peaceful evolution" and "color revolution," even to achieve regime change through violence. It is like a syringe filled with viruses, silently stabbing countries with a hidden needle and leaving a festering wound. All other countries need to be on the highest level of alert to CIA's operations at all times, because if it gets its way, the consequences will likely be unbearable.

Over the years, the US has launched "color revolutions" through the CIA around the world. Washington does not care how much social unrest it causes and how painful the price the local people pay. No matter how many people die, it is just a number to Washington, not to mention other damages. All the US cares about is whether the person who comes to power is a puppet that obeys US' orders." https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202305/1290160.shtml

<The US' leading position in technologies of telecommunication and on-site command has provided unprecedented possibilities for the US intelligence community to launch "color revolutions" abroad. The report released by the National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center and 360 disclosed five methods commonly used by the CIA.

The first is to provide encrypted network communication services. In order to help protesters in some countries in the Middle East keep in touch and avoid being tracked and arrested, an American company, which, reportedly, has a US military background, developed TOR technology that can stealthily access the internet -- the Onion Router technology.

The servers encrypt all information that flows through them to help certain users to surf the web anonymously. After the project was launched by American companies, it was immediately provided free of charge to anti-government elements in Iran, Tunisia, Egypt and other countries and regions to ensure that those "young dissidents who want to shake their own government's rule" can avoid the scrutiny of the government, according to the report.

The second method is to provide offline communication services. For example, in order to ensure that anti-government personnel in Tunisia, Egypt and other countries can still keep in touch with the outside world when the internet is disconnected, Google and Twitter quickly launched a special service called "Speak2Tweet," which allows users to dial and upload voice notes for free.

These messages are automatically converted into tweets and then uploaded to the internet, and publicly released through Twitter and other platforms to complete the "real-time reporting" of the event on site, said the report.

The third method is to provide on-site command tools for rallies and parades based on the internet and wireless communications. The report noted that the US RAND Corporation has spent several years developing a non-traditional regime change technology called "swarming." The tool is used to help a large number of young people connected through the internet join the "one shot for another place" mobile protest movement, greatly improving the efficiency of on-site command of the event.

The fourth is American developed software called "Riot." The software supports 100 percent independent broadband network, provides variable WiFi network, does not rely on any traditional physical access method, does not need telephone, cable or satellite connection, and can easily escape any form of government monitoring.

The last one is the "anti-censorship" information system. The US State Department regards the research and development of the system as an important task and has injected more than $30 million into the project.> https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202305/1290090.shtml

Before 1989 Eastern Europeans defected to the West to start a new life. Now Western Europeans are desperate to leave Borrell's Garden. A French man pulled up at the Grzechotki checkpoint which separates northern Poland from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, but was turned away as he lacked the proper documents to leave Poland. Apparently leaving the EU is not as easy as you think.

The man turned back, but returned to the checkpoint in the afternoon.

This time, he accelerated and rammed his Citroen through the barrier, before stopping when border guards deployed a spike strip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3MotSgvEHQ&t=2s

🇺🇸🇮🇹Kevin McCarthy's first official trip abroad since he was appointed Speaker of the US House of Representatives in January includes a visit to Italy. Why is Rome the only European capital he planned to visit in his Mediterranean tour, after Egypt, Jordan and Israel? The Republican leader is leading a bipartisan delegation from the US Congress and has a full agenda of meetings in Rome: Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister, Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic, and his counterpart Lorenzo Fontana, Speaker of the House.

Italy is seen as a strategic hub for the Mediterranean, a sea at the intersection of three continents. The US has long laid claim to this region, and considers it crucial to its attempts to contain Russia and China.
Mc Carthy's visit was prepared by US officials who put pressure on Meloni and her government not to renew the Memorandum of Understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) signed in 2019 by then-Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte. Giorgia Meloni hasn't made a mystery of her opposition to the Memorandum. The BRI is a global infrastructure development project that runs through the continents of Asia, Europe and Africa, connecting the vibrant East Asia economic circle at one end and developed European economic circle at the other, and encompassing countries with huge potential for economic development. Italy would have benefitted tremendously from investments in its underfunded, aging infrastructure, and Trieste and Genova ports would have received a considerable boost by becoming hubs for Euro-Asiatic connection. Unfortunately the current Italian government is more concerned on pleasing its Atlanticist master than supporting the country's economy and development. @LauraRuHK

Ramzan Kadyrov: "The attack on the Kremlin is nothing less than a provocation to force an escalation - a favourite technique of modern hybrid warfare and Western generals, the results of which are beneficial to the provocateurs themselves.

The chain of statements and veiled media blasts that followed was intended to stir ambitions and push the Russian Supreme Commander-in-Chief to carry out a brutal retaliation in Ukraine, such as the carpet-bombing of cities. This would then be used for a media campaign focusing on civilian casualties and the Nazis in Kiev would be cast as victims.

I admire Vladimir Vladimirovich's restraint and wisdom in not giving in to this vile provocation. But the organizers of this attack will have to answer for it, no matter where on Earth they are. Not today, not tomorrow, but those involved will suffer a just punishment. It is too early for it now. Early, because justice in the world community today is buried under the interests of the aggressor country, the only one of its kind in the world, which for years has bent the institutions of independence, interests and rights of other countries.

One of the tasks of today's Russia and its allies is to rebuild the world's institutions of justice so that they become impartial and independent again. This is bound to happen, and finally, the unipolarity and puppet status of entire countries will come to an end. That is when there will be a full-fledged demand from every participant, perpetrator and organiser.

That is why today's provocation should not and will not change the scenario of the planned course of the special military operation. Yes, it is an attack on the President, and therefore on the State and, consequently, on all the people of the Russian Federation. But it must not affect our intended plans and interests. Retaliation, of course, will come. And it will be surgical and precise." https://t.me/SolovievLive/175939

🇬🇪 Georgian prime minister spoke out against the LGBT agenda of the West

📝 “How do the forces that oppose freedom, truth, try to achieve their goals? It is through the destruction of traditional, family values and coercion to false freedom. For example, through LGBTQ+ propaganda, attempts to legalize gender reassignment for children bypassing parents.

So-called "innovations" are imposed, which should tear people away from their roots, family, traditions, culture and history. It is easy to manage such a person who has forgotten his history, faith - a rootless person.

We defend the rights of the majority, for whom the family is a union between a man and a woman. Where the woman is the mother and the man is the father. We defend the rights of the absolute majority of our population.

The absolute majority of our society shares these conservative family values,” said Irakli Garibashvili at an anti-LGBT forum in Budapest.
