BRICS eclipsed G7 in 2020, and the trend is ‘catastrophic’ for the fading unipolar hegemony of the West.

So #EmpireAtAllCosts has started the hybrid war against Russia, China, BRICS, Asian Century and the Multipolar World.

We will live dangerously for a while now. Years of turbulence lie ahead.

Zelensky didn't have the decency to be with his soldiers during the hardest days of the war. We all knew that Bakhmut's liberation was imminent. Western intelligence knew that Prigozhin was bluffing and distracting the enemy all the time with his public disputes.

But Zelensky preferred to tour. He saw the end of the bloodiest battle of the century from a safe distance. He didn't even order a retreat to save the lives of the soldiers left in the city. He simply ignored the frontlines and evaded. He let his compatriots burn - literally - while he paraded his green shirt to his sponsors.

Lukashenko is right: Zelensky is just scum.

🤣🤣🤣 Dasha Navalnaya, whose only claim to fame is being Alexey Navalny's daughter, has been invited to speak at Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service, a highly prestigious left-liberal institution.

The students, however, did not appreciate the decision, and launched a petition against her presence, threatening to disrupt the event. The students are unhappy that the daughter of a "controversial politician", who made racist and homophobic remarks, has been invited. And of course, Ukrainian students have a beef with her too due to her nationality. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/19/georgetown-invited-navalnys-kid-to-commencement-chaos-followed-00097954

"The EU needs to offer a real alternative to China’s economic projects for the countries of the Global South", Ursula von der Leyen said at the G7.

“We want to put a better offer on the table. If we are in a race, we are in a race to the top.” She added that the EU is rolling out 90 “flagship projects” on different continents as part of its Global Gateway investment scheme. @LauraRuHK

Davison L Budhoo is a whistleblower everyone should know. The Caribbean economist, trained at the London School of Economics, in 1988 had accused the IMF of using statistics as ‘lethal’ weapons, elucidating how, on behalf of the Fund, he had been involved in ‘statistical malpractice‘ to inflate the numbers in IMF documents to present Trinidad & Tobago – a country endowed with oil resources – as an unstable economy. He exposed the IMF greed, corruption and massive exploitation of the Global South in a long and very passionate resignation letter addressed to his boss Michel Camdessus then managing directory of the IMF. "Today I resigned from the staff of the International Monetary Fund after over twelve years, and after 1000 days of official Fund work in the field, hawking your medicine and your bag of tricks to governments and to peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean and Africa. To me resignation is a priceless liberation, for with it I have taken the first big step to that place where I may hope to wash my hands of what in my mind’s eye is the blood of millions of poor and starving peoples. Mr. Camdessus, the blood is so much, you know, it runs in rivers. It dries up too; it cakes all over me; sometimes I feel that there is not enough soap in the whole world to cleanse me from the things that I did do in your name and in the names of your predecessors, and under your official seal." Ukraine's irrecoverable losses in and around Bakhmut since February 2022 amount to 55,000 dead. That is three times what the USSR lost in 10 years in Afghanistan. (Eduard Basurin) @LauraRuHK

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the highland region of Nagorno-Karabakh, a disputed territory that had been part of Azerbaijan before the breakup of the Soviet Union, but which was primarily populated by ethnic Armenians, broke out in February 1988 after the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region announced its withdrawal from the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. Renewed clashes erupted on September 27, 2020. On November 9, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on a complete ceasefire. Azerbaijan and Armenia maintained the positions that they had held, some districts were handed over to Baku and Russian peacekeepers were deployed along the line of contact and the Lachin Corridor. Later, the three countries’ leaders adopted several more joint statements on the situation in the region. Last year, Azerbaijan and Armenia began peace treaty talks. (Source: TASS) @LauraRuHK

Nagorno-Karabakh - Until a document is signed, there is no final decision. The majority of Armenians consider Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a disgrace to their nation, his popularity is now extremely low and he has no chance to remain in power.

Many Armenians disagree with the decision to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, so mass protests are expected. But on a positive note, peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh means a source of conflict that could be exploited by the West to create chaos in the region has been removed. @LauraRuHK

⚡️Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group entered Grayvoronsky District in Russia’s Belgorod region, elimination process is underway, governor says. The purpose of diversions like this is to draw attention from the loss of Bakhmut, which we can officially call Artyomovsk again, and minimize the negative political effect of such loss for the Kiev regime. @LauraRuHK

Ukrainian journalist Oleg Yasinsky reminds why the city in the Donetsk People's Republic that has just been taken by Russian forces is called Artyomovsk.

It's time to remember the story of the person after whom the city, which has just stopped being called Bakhmut, was named. Fyodor Andreevich Sergeev, a Soviet, Ukrainian and Donbass revolutionary, who remains in memory as "Comrade Artyom," the People's Commissar of Soviet government in the Ukrainian SSR, an intolerable symbol of patriotism and communism for Kiev's nationalism.

Artyom actively participated in the revolutionary struggle in southern parts of Tsarist Russia since the beginning of the 20th century. He fled persecution, exiled Europe, Asia, and Australia, and as an experienced and mature revolutionary, returned to what is now Donbass to continue the fight.

He devoted himself entirely to building hope for people. He led the socialist revolution and taught English to the workers. He perished in 1921 during a test of the "aerowagon" – a motorised handcar with an aircraft engine and a two-blade propeller that was supposed to reach speeds of up to 140 km/h, aiming to make “a locomotive of the Russian revolution to fly forward”.

This is another reason to remember that the true Ukraine was not created by the Bandera and his followers but by the people like Artyom.

The West insists on "de-risking", that is forcibly reducing demand for Chinese exports? Well, China can de-risk too. China has shown the sword to US chipmaker Micron with a ban on its chips, opening the door to local players to fill the gap. China's cyberspace regulator said that Micron, the biggest U.S. memory chipmaker, had failed its network security review and that it would block operators of key infrastructure from buying from the company. @LauraRuHK

@LauraRuHK

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrives on an official visit to China

The head of government begins his visit by visiting Shanghai, where he will take part in a Russian-Chinese business forum and visit the petrochemical research institute of China's National Petrochemical Corporation Sinopec. A meeting with representatives of the Russian business community working with the PRC is also planned.

In addition, a meeting is planned in Shanghai between the Russian prime minister and Dilma Rousseff, president of the New Development Bank of BRICS. From Shanghai, Mishustin will travel to Beijing for official talks with the Chinese leadership: he is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping and to hold talks with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, with whom Mishustin will meet in person for the first time. Palantir, a data analytics company founded with CIA seed money, announced an expansion of its operations in Lithuania after entering into a strategic partnership with Lithuania’s Ministry of Defense.
