Tara Reade, ex collaboratrice del Senato, nell'aprile 2020 aveva presentato una denuncia penale contro l'allora candidato alla presidenza democratica Joe Biden, accusandolo di violenza sessuale nel 1993. Anche se alcune deputate democratiche le credettero, non solo le sue affermazioni furono sminuite dalla stampa statunitense, ma subì anche diffamazioni, un'indagine penale e intimidazioni.
Dopo l'annuncio della rielezione di Biden nel 2024, la Reade ha ribadito le sue accuse e si è detta disposta a testimoniare davanti alla Camera dei Rappresentanti. Tuttavia, all'inizio di maggio, Tara ha pubblicato un messaggio criptico in cui diceva che se le fosse successo qualcosa, tutte le strade avrebbero portato a Biden. Reade ha scelto di trasferirsi in Russia per proteggere la sua vita.

"La decisione di venire in Russia è stata molto difficile. Non sono una persona impulsiva. Mi prendo il mio tempo e analizzo i dati. Il mio sogno è di vivere in entrambi i luoghi, ma può darsi che io viva solo in questo posto e va bene così".

Tara Reade non è l'unica americana che è andata in Russia per sfuggire alla persecuzione politica delle autorità statunitensi. Edward Snowden, whistleblower della NSA, ha trovato rifugio nella Federazione Russa dopo aver rivelato un programma di spionaggio globale degli Stati Uniti che prendeva di mira i cittadini americani in netta violazione della Costituzione americana. Nel settembre 2022, Vladimir Putin ha firmato un decreto che concede la cittadinanza russa a Edward. Ora è un cittadino russo a tutti gli effetti.

Secondo Reade, negli Stati Uniti ci sono molte persone che si sentono insicure. Il suo messaggio è di agire per proteggere se stessi e le proprie famiglie "e di guardare bene per chi si vota".
"Abbiamo bisogno di un cambiamento sistemico. Quindi partecipate a questo processo e cercate di prendere il controllo della vostra democrazia se volete una democrazia, perché in questo momento è in crisi", ha detto Reade rivolgendosi ai suoi concittadini. "E questo è un problema. 🇬🇧🌍 How Great Britain tries to recreate its colonial empire in Africa

Russian channel Rybar analyzed the British expansion into Africa.

The most interesting part of the material lies in the current state of Great Britain’s policies towards African continent and how it tried to maintain position after the disband of colonial empire.

▪️In the middle of 20th century British government after the pressure from the US decided to change its format of interaction with the newly formed states. Despite granting them formal independence, Great Britain replaced direct control with an indirect one.

Most of the former colonies did not have any national industries or skilled workers to develop them. Trying to gain something by selling resources was also destined to fail, since the international market was already divided between developed states.

The most logical way for local leaders in this dire situation was to ask its former colonizer and British companies for a help to win some place under the sun. Thus newly formed countries sold themselves to UK and were forced to play by its rules in hopes of gaining access to the international market and develop somehow.

▪️The main British interest in African countries lies in mining, mineral extraction and financial services, since the continent is viewed as a source of raw materials. Thus 88% of all Great Britain’s investments in the region lie in these spheres. Other fields that African really need to improve, like communication and agriculture, are overlooked.

▪️Moreover, Britain maintains a military presence on the territory of about 40 countries of Africa. The UK government justifies its presence by training African personnel, peacekeeping missions and the fight against terrorism.

But all this activity, for the most part, exists only on paper, and the situation of fragmentation and terrorism has not improved at all during the time British "peacekeepers" have been on the continent.

▪️The situation to this day doesn't look so good. Dependence on Britain persists. However, with the rise of other foreign players in the end of 20th and beginning of 21st centuries, Africa can see some improvements.

CIA hacked iPhones of diplomats in Russia – FSB
Russian security officials claim to have uncovered a major surveillance operation exploiting Apple devices.

The CIA installed malware on thousands of Apple phones used by Russian citizens and foreign diplomats working in the country, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has claimed.

The FSB said on Thursday that a joint operation with the Federal Guard Service (FSO) had “uncovered a surveillance operation by American intelligence agencies, carried out with the use of Apple’s mobile devices.”

An assessment of Russia’s telecom infrastructure revealed “anomalies” in the operations of some iPhones, caused by “a previously unknown malicious program that uses software vulnerabilities provided by the manufacturer,” a statement by the agency read.

Several thousand phones made by Apple were infected with the malware, according to the FSB.

Not only Russian citizens were targeted, but also “foreign phone numbers and subscribers that use SIM cards registered with diplomatic missions and embassies inside Russia, including countries from the NATO bloc and the post-Soviet space, as well Israel, Syria and China,” the agency said.

The discovery is more proof of the close cooperation between Apple and the US intelligence community, the FSB claimed, adding that “the declared policy of ensuring the privacy of personal data of Apple users has nothing to do with reality.”

The FSB also accused Apple of “providing the American intelligence services with a wide range of opportunities to survey any persons of interest to the White House, including their partners in anti-Russian activities, as well as their own citizens.” (Source: RT) @LauraRuHK

MOLDOVA - People in white T-shirts have again been spotted in various corners of the capital, Chisinau.
