German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany would not be able to replace every tank lost in an offensive with Ukraine. However, he noted that the FRG will continue to supply Ukraine with reconditioned obsolete Leopard 1A5 tanks, which were decommissioned in 2010. According to Pistorius, Ukraine will receive over 100 units of the "German cats" by the end of this year. Non solo l'idea dei giochi gay ha provocato un acceso dibattito politico, ora arriva la ciliegina sulla torta. Alcuni attivisti accusano gli organizzatori della comunita' LGBT di Hong Kong di "collusione con il governo" che definiscono "autoritario" per aver introdotto nel 2020 la Legge sulla Sicurezza Nazionale che ha messo fine ai tentativi di rivoluzione colorata in citta'. Questi attivisti, che hanno preso parte alle rivolte del 2019-20 e ora risiedono all'estero, stanno facendo pressione sui potenziali partecipanti perche' disertino Hong Kong a favore dell'altra sede che ospita i Gay Games nel 2023, Guadalajara in Messico. Si tratta di un tipico caso di doppio legame creato ad arte dalle forze imperialiste: se i giochi si svolgono e' perche' sono organizzati da "forze anti-democratiche colluse con Pechino", se non si svolgono il governo viene accusato di essere anti-democratico e discriminatorio nei confronti della lobby LGBT. In 2017, this lobby supported Hong Kong's bid to host the 2022 Gay Games, a kind of 'inclusive' Olympics celebrating sexual and gender differences. Obviously, in Hong Kong there are both critics (the majority) and supporters of this circus event, which was postponed due to pandemic restrictions but is scheduled to take place in November this year. Not only has the idea of gay games provoked heated political debate, now comes the icing on the cake. Some activists accuse the games organisers, who are members of Hong Kong's LGBT community, of 'colluding with the government', which they invariably label 'authoritarian', for introducing the National Security Law in 2020, a bill that put an end to foreign interference and attempts to orchestrate a colour revolution in the city. These activists, who took part in the 2019-20 riots and now reside abroad, are pressuring potential participants to desert Hong Kong in favour of the other venue hosting the Gay Games in 2023, Guadalajara in Mexico. This is a typical case of double bind artfully created by imperialist forces: if the games take place it is because they are organised by 'anti-democratic forces colluding with Beijing', if they do not take place the government is accused of being anti-democratic and discriminatory against the LGBT lobby.
