Kraus used the term ‘Katastrophe der Phrasen’ (Catastrophe of Clichés) to describe how the use of clichés and stereotypes by journalists and in everyday language leads to war. The most enduring and misleading clichés about Russia are the product of Western racism and ignorance about the country. When Russians are racialized as "Asiatic" to stir up Russophobia in Ukraine and in the West, when Russia is portrayed as a backward, barbaric country you can be sure that the peddlers of these clichés know next to nothing about Russia. The Orwellian "Ignorance is Strength" was supposed to keep the masses blind and the Party in power, but when the Party believes the lies it tells the masses, the result is war and...defeat. ⚡️To avert a government shutdown the US House of Representatives approved a 45-day funding bill to keep federal agencies open as Speaker Kevin McCarthy dropped demands for steep spending cuts and relied on Democratic votes.
The new bill does not include aid to Ukraine, a White House priority opposed by a growing number of GOP lawmakers, but the plan would increase federal disaster assistance by $16 billion. The package was approved 335-91, with most Republicans and almost all Democrats supporting it.

Populist Robert Fico's SMER-SSD party is on the brink of becoming the country's leader for a fourth time, if he can form a majority coalition.

A VERY DANGEROUS ESCALATION ▪️UK's Minister for Defence Grant Shapps said he plans to send British troops to Ukraine to get the military training of Ukrainian troops "closer and actually into" the country.

UK, US, NATO operatives, advisers and instructors have long been helping Ukrainian military and intelligence forces on the ground, Grant Shapps now wants to give them an official status, directly involving the UK in the conflict. Understandably, Britons aren't too happy about it, and the backlash against this crazy proposition has already started. ▪️Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, the rabid Atlanticist who heads the German Defense Committee, demands that Taurus missiles be immediately supplied to the Kiev regime. The range of these cruise missiles is 500 km, that means they can reach deep into Russia. If that happens, it doesn't take a genius to understand that Russia may retaliate by attacking the German factories where these missiles are made, as they become a target consistent with the law of armed conflict.
