JPMorgan CEO plans to sell $141 million worth of shares
JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon plans to sell shares currently worth about $141 million, the first such deal since he came to lead the Wall Street giant nearly 18 years ago.
Starting next year, Dimon and his family members will dispose of 1 million shares of the lender's shares for financial diversification and tax planning purposes, Dimon said in a statement filed Friday.
In early 2009, Dimon bought 500,000 shares of the bank's stock as a vote of confidence amid a stock slump. In 2016, he made a similar move, spending about $38 million on the two purchases.
The increase of more than 250% in JPMorgan’s shares during Dimon’s tenure has helped turn the executive into a billionaire.
Yet now Dimon “continues to believe the company’s prospects are very strong and his stake in the company will remain very significant,” JPMorgan said in the statement.
JPMorgan shares slipped 1.1% at 8 a.m. in early New York trading and were down further at the time of publication.

The New York Times: la vittoria israeliana senza alleanza è impossibile

October 7 testimonies reveal Israel’s military ‘shelling’ Israeli citizens with tanks, missiles
Israel’s military received orders to shell Israeli homes and even their own bases as they were overwhelmed by Hamas militants on October 7. How many Israeli citizens said to have been “burned alive” were actually killed by friendly fire?

Two months ago the Pentagon awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to build U.S. troop facilities for a secret base it maintains deep within Israel’s Negev desert, just 20 miles from Gaza. Code-named “Site 512,” the longstanding U.S. base is a radar facility that monitors the skies for missile attacks on Israel. Though President Joe Biden and the White House insist that there are no plans to send U.S. troops to Israel amid its war on Hamas, a secret U.S. military presence in Israel already exists. And the government contracts and budget documents show it is evidently growing.
The $35.8 million U.S. troop facility, not publicly announced or previously reported, was obliquely referenced in an August 2 contract announcement by the Pentagon. Though the Defense Department has taken pains to obscure the site’s true nature — describing it in other records merely as a “classified worldwide” project — budget documents reviewed by The Intercept reveal that it is part of Site 512. https://theintercept.com/2023/10/27/secret-military-base-israel-gaza-site-512/#:~:text=October%2027%202023%2C%2011%3A55%20a.m.&text=Two%20months%20before%20Hamas%20attacked,just%2020%20miles%20from%20Gaza.

Israel demanded that all international media employees immediately leave the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Israel is actively obstructing the work of journalists in the occupied territories, continues to deny them access to Gaza, targets those who are reporting from the ground and intimidates those who are exposing its war crimes. At least 24 journalists have been killed by Israel since October 7. @LauraRuHK

🇷🇺The situation at the Makhachkala airport is now under control. Security measures have been strengthened in the cities and districts of Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim republic in the North Caucasus.
On Sunday evening, a mob stormed Makhachkala airport after the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv. It was reported that they were allegedly looking for Israeli citizens. Planes, which were supposed to land in the capital of Dagestan, were redirected to other airports.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic, two people are in extremely serious condition. In total, ten people have been hospitalized and the same number required medical care.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District said that the identities of all those who took part in the riots will be established with the help of video surveillance cameras and brought to justice. While voicing support for Palestinians in Gaza, the regional Dagestani government appealed to citizens to remain calm and not take part in such protests.
"We urge residents of the republic to treat the current situation in the world with understanding. Federal authorities and international organizations are making every effort to bring about a ceasefire against Gaza civilians … we urge residents of the republic not to succumb to the provocations of destructive groups and not to create panic in society," the Dagestani government wrote on Telegram. It appears that Ukraine-linked provocateurs incited ethnic hatred against Russian Jews by posing as Muslims on social media. @LauraRuHK

◾️ The riots in Dagestan were the result of a provocation planned and carried out from outside, aimed at undermining the unity of Russia;
◾️ Kiev regime played a key role in the Makhachkala airport incident;
◾️ The speed of Zelensky's response to the events at Makhachkala airport suggests the coordinated nature of the sabotage by Ukrainian Security Services;
