MUSIC LOVERS BULLIED BY UKRAINIAN SHITSTORM TROOPS The Italian tour of Ukrainian-born pianist Alexander Romanovsky has been targeted by relentless and coordinated Ukrainian attacks. The "Stand for Ukraine" cyber army swarmed concert organizers, local authorities, venue managers and created a shitstorm on the internet to demand the cancellation of Romanovsky's concerts. In 2022 the UK Royal College of Music had suspended the widely-acclaimed pianist and popular professor. His "crime"? He played in front of the destroyed theatre in Mariupol. @LauraRuHK

Confrontation between Russia and NATO is far more dangerous than anything that happened during the Cold war "Diplomacy should be the West's weapons of choice in its relations with Russia, not more armaments," Geoffrey Roberts, emeritus professor of history at University College Cork, Ireland and a leading British scholar on Soviet diplomatic and military history, told Sputnik, stressing that Europeans have zero appetite for a major war with Russia.
"This bellicose rhetoric is part of a campaign by Western hardliners to further militarize Western states and societies, their aim being to prolong the Ukraine war for as long as possible and to create a permanent confrontation with Russia. Predictions of future war with Russia heighten existing tensions and solidify a mindset in which military power is seen as the solution to political problems," Roberts continued.
Confrontation between Russia and NATO is fraught with serious risks and is "far more dangerous than anything that happened during the Cold war. During the Soviet-Western Cold war there were many proxy wars and conflicts but nothing comparable in scope, scale and intensity to what is happening in Ukraine," Roberts noted, referring to the West's ongoing proxy conflict in Eastern Europe which involves NATO's Special Forces, weapons, intelligence, military training and sabotage techniques.
"Western hardliners have whipped up an atmosphere of hysteria that could spread violence to other sections of the front-line between NATO and Russia. There is an urgent need for Western governments to heed popular calls for peace and a security settlement with Russia that will avert this new cold war – a conflict that could lead to catastrophe," the professor concluded. In Geneve the US envoy to the UN, during the Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review session, condemned an imaginary genocide while her government is aiding and abetting a real genocide in Gaza. The Global South saw through her lies, praised China’s poverty alleviation policies and rejected fake news. Only a minority of mostly Western countries echoed the US' baseless accusations. The EU's united front was breached by Hungary, which said the review “shouldn’t be used for instrumentalisation of human rights issues”. @LauraRuHK

The European Union is unlikely to confiscate Russian central bank assets frozen in Europe, despite G7 plans to discuss the legality of such a move at a meeting in February, senior EU officials said. "Confiscation of the capital of the Russian assets is not going to happen. There is no agreement on this among EU member states," one senior official with insight into talks on the matter said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. European officials are concerned not only with the legality of such an unprecedented confiscation of sovereign assets, but also with the potential consequences for the euro currency; investors might pull out of euro assets out of concern their money might one day be seized too.
In addition, Moscow has pledged it would retaliate by confiscating Western assets in Russia, which some reports put at $288 billion. (Source: Reuters) @LauraRuHK

An Il-76 plane was shot down during a scheduled flight in the Belgorod region.
There were 65 captured Ukrainian military personnel, six crew members, and three guards on board the aircraft. The prisoners were being transported to the border regions for an exchange.
The Russian Ministry of Defence has sent an investigative team to the crash site.
Meanwhile, Ukraine-based Ukrainskaya Pravda newspaper reported, citing sources in Kiev’s military, that the aircraft had been destroyed by Ukrainian forces. However, the outlet reported that the plane had been carrying S-300 air defense missiles rather than prisoners.
A few minutes later, it removed the mention of Kiev’s role in the downing of the aircraft, stating only that its military sources had confirmed the crash.
Russian MP Andrey Kartapolov said that there were two planes carrying Ukrainian POWs, and that Moscow had to urgently divert the second IL-76, carrying 80 captured troops, out of the danger zone.
The legislator stated that Kiev knew about the impending exchange and had been informed of the flight route, adding that despite the warning, the plane was shot down by three anti-aircraft missiles fired from either US-made Patriot or German-made IRIS-T systems. Kartapolov asserted that in light of this tragedy, any prisoner exchange is “out of the question for now,” suggesting that Kiev had carried out the attack in order to thwart the exchange. Did Ukraine deploy Western Patriot and IRIS-T systems near the border with Russia?
🔻In December 2023, the Head of the Kharkov administration, Oleg Sinegubov, said that President Volodymr Zelensky had instructed the Ukrainian military to strengthen the region's air defense;
🔻During his annual press conference, Zelensky said that over the winter Ukraine would be covered by additional Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems;
🔻In November 2023, German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäger announced that Ukraine would receive two more IRIS-T air defense systems from Germany by the end of the year for the winter campaign of 2023-2024;
🔻In October, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced second winter military package for Kiev regime, noting that "the heart of the winter package is additional air defense systems Patriot and IRIS-T. This air defense package alone is worth around one billion euros."
⁉️If it turns out that Ukraine killed its own prisoners of war with Western-made missile, who should bear responsibility?

Chaos in Kiev Establishment
Military and political ramifications of the shootdown of the IL-76 plane. Andrei Koshkin, a retired Russian colonel and expert at the Association of Military-Political Scientists, told Sputnik that officials in Kiev had advance knowledge about the flight, and were aware of the fact that it was carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war.
“It was not a particularly difficult task to attack a military transport aircraft. The motive, frankly, is a provocation – a provocation both within Ukraine’s Armed Forces and within the Ukrainian political establishment,” Koshkin believes.
“It won’t be an easy task for Zelensky to get out of this situation, because he will have to explain on what basis the plane was destroyed, and by whom. There is of course the possibility that they will suddenly claim that Russia shot the plane down. But this is something Kiev’s Western curators are losing interest in. This is a serious provocation...If it turns out that it was organized by the decision of some internal forces seeking to complicate the situation or complicate the internal dispute between, say, the political establishment and military leadership, we will soon see to what extent this provocation will be used in that confrontation,” the observer said.
Dmitry Kornev, founder of the Military Russia analytical portal, told Sputnik that the Ukrainian side certainly has the means to target the Russian Il-76, which is a “large plane, without any stealth, which can be targeted and shot down at large distances, unfortunately,” ranging from the S-300 to the Patriot and IRIS-T air defense systems.
Kornev echoed Koshkin’s sentiments that Wednesday’s provocation may be part of a larger plot, possibly relating to Kiev’s dependence on ever-dwindling amounts of military and economic assistance from the West.
“Let’s consider several possibilities. Zelensky is facing a difficult situation, a plane full of prisoners is shot down, this could be twisted in various directions,” the analyst said, suggesting that the news could be used as evidence that “everything is bad for Zelensky, that everything is lost,” and that he requires urgent Western assistance.
Pointing out that lawmakers in Washington are preparing to review a $61 billion aid package to Kiev this week, Kornev suggested that “in this situation, many events can be triggered artificially to somehow affect decisions in favor of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, or conversely, against them. It’s clear that different parties can play on this situation, including the United States, where different perspectives [on the Ukraine proxy war, ed.] intersect. More likely than not, this situation is not in Zelensky’s favor,” Kornev summed up. (Source: Sputnik) @LauraRuHK

The farmers' protests that have erupted in France have the support of 89% of the French, an Odoxa-Backbone Consulting poll for Le Figaro newspaper showed on Wednesday.
According to the poll, the level of support for the farmers' protests reaches 97% among the supporters of France's Republican Party.
Some 78% of the French believe that the European Union's agricultural policy is having a negative impact on the business of French farmers. The majority of French citizens, or about 83%, also said French President Emmanuel Macron does not sufficiently support the country's farmers — the opinion shared by 58% of those supporting Macron's Renaissance party.
Since last Thursday, farmers in France have been blocking highways and dumping manure and waste in front of government buildings across the country. The farmers are demanding recognition of the importance of their profession and denouncing the government's agricultural policies, which they believe make them uncompetitive.
The president of the National Federation of Agricultural Holders' Unions (FNSEA), Arnaud Rousseau, announced an indefinite extension of the farmers' actions, adding that the protests are expected to swarm 85 out of the 96 departments of France's European part by the end of the week. Per finanziare questo progetto Schmidt starebbe usando una serie di società di comodo. ▪️Schmidt è stato amministratore delegato di Google fino al 2011 e ne è rimasto presidente fino al 2015. Margarita [Simonyan] published a list of the Ukrainian prisoners of war who were aboard the IL-76 plane. Pay attention to the names. Especially those who like to talk about "incurable Khokhols" [derogatory term for "Ukrainians"]
Take a look at the names of the deceased:
Maxim Alekseev, Mikhail Antonov, Ivan Arestov, Alexander Babaev, Vladislav Bobrovsky, Evgeny Galtsev, Denis Golik, Vitaly Kaskov, Valery Kovalyov, Yuri Lobashov, Roman Lozitsky, Vyacheslav Poznyakov, Ivan Roy, Sergey Semyonov, Yaroslav Sobolev, Fokin, Chelishev, Sharov....
To put it bluntly: any of us [Russians] could be a "Khokhol" - if we happened to be born not in Ryazan and Syzran, but in Zhitomir and Kharkov. Not in Belgorod, but in Sumy. Strictly speaking, there is no difference.
But if "demon-possession" can be inoculated, it can also be cured. Alas, it can be cured only in the living.

However, I would like to emphasize that the effect of such provocations and their duration are very short-lived - in our modern world secrets and lies are quickly exposed.
According to classified opinion polls, which are conducted in Western countries, we can see that the population of these countries is simply tired of the Ukrainian crisis. Few people believe in the possibility of defeating Russia and few see the expediency of providing colossal financial aid to Zelensky's gang. And no one understands why the population of Western countries should suffer for the sake of it.
And in order to make the population of the United States and European countries think differently and realize what people are suffering for, the most common technique is used - an attempt to convince the population of their countries that aggression from Russia is possible." @LauraRuHK https://t.me/dimsmirnov175/63160
