Reminder - Drinks tonight (Wednesday 1st July) Shaws Booksellers from 6pm - hope to see a few of you there. Will be there from 6pm and happy to take questions about the web sit and app and please ask for features while I’m thinking about this. Latest additions (coming soon or in the TestFlight now - widgets for the Home Screen and control pane, shortcuts and Siri integration.

Next release will have all of these (already submitted to apple) and the request after that will have the I’m going to a spot tracker for you to see who is going where on a day when people day they are going - much like the poll system but for every day.

Also added some What3Words integration but need help from people to test and improve the what three words for the launch areas at different spots. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/london-kitesurfers-lksa/id6781378372 to download the app all the fictionality (or most of it) can be found on the web site https://londonkitesurfers.com as well.

For those of you that would like to test the latest version of the app, the beta is now available on TestFlight at https://testflight.apple.com/join/A55966w4 its available for iOS and macOS.

The latest release adds all of this:

Going to a spot tracker for you to see who is going where on a day when people day they are going to the beach, its much like the poll but built into the app and shows the capability for every day of the week. You can add a nickname or remain anonymous.

Session log & world map
• Log every session you kite. Add manually, import GPX files, or pull workouts from Apple Health.
• World map of every spot you've kited, filterable by year, wind, and region (UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, etc).
• Attach photos to any session — they sync across your devices via iCloud.

Smarter, faster
• Auto-name spots from Apple Maps for sessions that don't match an LKSA spot — no typing required.
• Wind and direction now auto-fill from the LKSA forecast when you save a session for a known spot.
• Duplicate imports from GPX + Apple Health are grouped together so your stats never double-count the same ride.

Personalise it
• Choose km/h, mph, or knots for speed and km, miles, or nautical miles for distance.
• Pick a rider profile (80 kg / 50 kg / 100kg) so kite-size guidance matches you.

macOS polish
• Sessions, World map and Who's going now have direct toolbar buttons on the main window.
• Every sheet closes with a more consistent Done button in the top-left.

Under the bonnet
• Forecast refresh is now self-healing — the app can never get stuck on a stale cache.
• Big pass of stability fixes for Apple Watch / GPX imports and iCloud sync.


Feedback on the features and what you would like added in the future welcome (please DM me) this release is with apple for approval and will be available to everyone in the next few days (hopefully)
