हर साल 7 अगस्त को राष्ट्रीय हथकरघा दिवस पूरे भारत में मनाया जाता है, जो हमारे कुशल बुनकरों को समर्पित है। वर्ष 2015 में इस दिन की शुरुआत हुई थी, जिसका उद्देश्य हथकरघा उद्योग को प्रोत्साहन देना और सूक्ष्म, लघु, और मध्यम उद्योगों का समर्थन करना है। इस अवसर पर देश भर में विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाता है।
हैंडलूम का इतिहास
1905 में लॉर्ड कर्जन ने बंगाल के विभाजन की घोषणा की, जिसके विरोध में कोलकाता के टाउन हॉल में एक महा जनसभा से स्वदेशी आंदोलन की शुरुआत हुई। इसी ऐतिहासिक घटना की याद में हर साल 7 अगस्त को राष्ट्रीय हथकरघा दिवस मनाया जाता है। प्रधानमंत्री ने 7 अगस्त, 2015 को इस दिवस की शुरुआत की, और तब से इसे हर साल मनाया जाता है।
