This is marked as the beginning of Indian Classical Art.
Friends, We are talking about 2nd century BCE !
But this achievement was impossible with the primitive tools!

Adinatha Temple, Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India
Adinatha Temple is a beautiful Jain temple that follows the ancient Indian religion of Jainism, and it is part of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments in the State of Madhya Pradesh, India
Built sometime around 11th century, it is dedicated to Jina Adinarta and it is classified as a Monument of National Importance by the Archaeological Survey of India. Being an important part of the Eastern Group of Khajuraho Temples, this ancient shrine is dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankar Adinath, who was the founder of Jainism, and it is a temple without ambulatory from which only the sanctum & vestibule have survived with their roofs.
Similar to the nearby Vamana Temple, the top row of the outer wall of the Adinatha temple depicts a flying vidyadhara, whereas the curvilinear tower of the Adinatha temple is of better proportions, which can be suggested that the Adinatha Temple was constructed later than the Vamana Temple, thus making it much better.

Nonetheless, remarkable for its elegant sculptures, this superb temple has three bands of sculptures including those of sura sundaris, also known as heavenly beauties, and images of Jaina Yakshis, better known as fairies.
The standing temple looks like it is carved out from a single limestone, and the tallest point of the temple is some 30 meters (98 feet) high, surrounded by a lush green trees that seem to be growing bigger and bigger every time one visits.
Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a group of temples, it is one of the most visited places in Central India, offering peaceful atmosphere for a small prayer of appreciation for the creator of this alluring structure.

This Vaidyanatheshwara temple (also spelt Vaidyesvara), the largest, the most intact and ornate of the group bears Ganga-Chola-Hoysala architectural features. Its consecration is assignable to the 9th century with improvements made up to the 16th century. Since, the temple has been expanded and rebuilt over time, the architecture of temple appears to be mixture of many kingdoms. Two huge Dwarapalakas standing at the entrance to the main shrine welcome us. The doorways are intricately carved and the outer walls too are enriched with sculptures. The Western Gangas ruled over most part of Mysore region from Gangavadi to Kolar in the later 4th century to 1004 CE. Raja Raja Chola-I captured Talakadu and named it ‘Rajarajapura’. After hundred years, Talakadu was captured from Cholas by the Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana (1111-1141CE) in the battle of Talakadu and built KEERTI NARAYANA TEMPLE in 1117 CE (according to the Historian Adam Hardy). In 1634 it was conquered by Wodeyars of Mysore, from Srī Ranga Raya, the representative of the Vijayanagara Dynasty. The Wodeyar sent his soldiers to seize the jewels of the late ruler’s widow-ALAMELAMMA. While fleeing she is supposed to have jumped into the river Cauvery, cursing the Mysore ruler to remain heirless and Talakadu be filled with Sand. Talakadu is about 50kms from Mysore, Karnataka

Dancing Shiva with eight hands and the right leg in Uoorthuva Janu pose found in the Makara thorana of one of the deva koshtams of the Keezhaiyur twin temples.
This temple sculptures are very fine specimen of Early Chola sculptures of the times of Aditya Chola l. The twin temples were built by Pazhuvettarayar Chieftains under the Cholas.
Keezhaiyur once formed part of Pazhuvur. This temple is mentioned in the inscriptions as Awanigandharbha Ishwara Graham.
This temple is found in Keezhaiyur in Ariyalur district in Tamilnadu.
This perfect and tiny Cosmic Dancer is beautiful and makes one wonder at the workmanship of the Chola sculptors.

In Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, the Naga or Nagi are divine, semi-divine deities, or a semi-divine race of half-human half-serpent beings that reside in the netherworld (Patala) and can occasionally take human form.
A female naga is a "Nagi", "Nagin", or "Nagini". Nagaraja is seen as the king of nagas and naginis. They are common and hold cultural significance in the mythological traditions of many South Asian and Southeast Asian cultures. They are the children of Rishi Kashyapa and Kadru.
The nagas are believed to both live on Nagaloka, among the other minor deities, and in various parts of the human-inhabited earth. Some of them are water-dwellers, living in streams or the ocean; others are earth-dwellers, living in caverns.
