Grundberg: "The parties are fulfilling a commitment they made under the Truce to work on an agreement that will reduce the suffering of Yemenis in Taiz & other governorates. The success of this meeting to reopen roads will be a collective victory for Yemen. We want to support the parties in setting them on a path that would take Yemen out of a cycle of violence that has severely restricted people’s freedom of movement for more than seven years.”

غروندبرغ: "يحقق الأطراف التزامهم بموجب الهدنة بالعمل على اتفاقية تخفف من معاناة اليمنيين في تعز والمحافظات الأخرى. نجاح هذا الاجتماع لفتح الطرق سيكون نجاحاً جماعياً لليمن. نريد أن ندعم الأطراف في وضعهم على مسار قد يساهم في إخراج اليمن من دوامة العنف التي أدت إلى تقييد حرية الناس بالتنقل لأكثر من سبع سنوات."

UN Envoy for #Yemen Hans Grundberg held meetings in #Aden today with President of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi, as well as Foreign Minister Ahmed BinMubarak, to continue discussions on re-opening roads in Taiz and renewing the truce.

Discussions focused on the need to deliver results for civilians in Taiz & across #Yemen. Mr. Grundberg noted that renewing the truce is critical to solidify benefits delivered so far & provide space to move towards a political settlement.

The UN Envoy met in Muscat today with Ansar Allah's chief negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam and Omani officials. Mr. Grundberg underlined the urgency of re-opening roads in #Taiz & elsewhere in #Yemen, renewing the truce and taking meaningful steps to comprehensively end the conflict.

التقى المبعوث الأممي اليوم في مسقط كبير مفاوضي أنصار الله محمد عبد السلام ومسؤولين عُمانيين. أكد السيد غروندبرغ ضرورة إعادة فتح الطرق في تعز ومناطق أخرى من #اليمن، وتجديد الهدنة، وأخذ خطوات جديّة تجاه انهاء النزاع بشكل شامل.

UN Special Envoy Grundberg exchanged today with Peace Track Initiative ideas and suggestions on how to incorporate gender perspectives into the UN work on #Yemen. Grundberg encouraged the group’s work and committed to continue pursuing women’s inclusion with the parties.
