"From a technical and military standpoint, the United States lacks the capability to initiate another conflict.
However, with elections approaching, it may attempt to manufacture a military success for political purposes.
We are not ignoring any possibilities and remain fully prepared to respond. This time, our response will be far more severe."

Saudi Arabia’s military vulnerabilities are being exposed by renewed Houthi attacks, according to the WSJ.
Saudi air defenses have reportedly intercepted over 90% of Houthi missiles targeting protected areas, but more than 50% of the attacks have struck locations without air defense coverage.
MBS growing concern: The U.S. resumes its war with Iran next month, leaving Saudi Arabia facing simultaneous attacks from multiple directions, without having proper defensive capabilities.

A tunnel uncovered northeast of Beirut, in the al Rawisat al Jadida area associated with Hezbollah, has been inspected by Lebanese army units. In a written statement the army put the tunnel at 8 meters long and 5 meters deep, with no weapons or military equipment inside, only personal digging tools. A suspect was arrested over the digging.
Kann news.

RT @BrettErickson28: It’s hilarious to me that people act like Iran “doesn’t understand US politics”.
They watch us like a hawk. They study us. They obsess over us…
And it’s reflected in how this war has gone.
But on the flip side, we have ideological extremists like Jason who have been so horrendously wrong every step of the way because THEY don’t understand anything about Iran because their view is so warped by hatred and anger.

I think the Iranian regime risks misreading President Trump, as it has done before. He's not on the ballot personally during the midterm elections in November, so its attempts to "punish" him will have limited impact. This is different from the 1980 election. It could backfire badly for Tehran--there are 2 long years left for them under his term.
The Iranian regime also has a long history of delusions over its leverage. Some in the regime believed in 2022 that Russia's invasion of Ukraine would make the U.S. and E3 desperate to revive the JCPOA due to the disruptions in the global energy market. That turned out to be a bad bet.
And this is quite a line: "Faced with a deepening economic crisis and growing international isolation, there is increasing concern within the ranks of Iranian leadership that the country could be left unable to perform core functions like paying its security forces within a matter of months, the diplomat said."

RT @BiankaB12: You can take the Serb out of Serbia, but…
“Some bad memories” - ah, sure. Gulags, mass deportations, destroyed cultural heritage, stolen archives and artefacts, occupation, repression and forced Russification. Just a few unpleasant memories, apparently. 🙄
When are you arrogant cunts going to understand that my generation of Balts, Balkans, Central and Eastern Europeans is not going to sacrifice itself - or its children - so the rest of you can keep living cushy lives in peace and prosperity?
This time, if we burn, you burn with us.
Cope and cry.
Either your beloved russia burns or we take you all down with us. This won’t be like WWII, when you sacrificed half a continent because you were “tired” (despite the major theatre being in the East, lol)

It is a strange world.
Because 5.7 million people live in three small Baltic countries (whose total size is less than a Chinese Tier II city). and whose half of the population lives in Europe, and another third are Russians who cannot get citizenship, and because they have traumas and bad memories of the Soviet rule, the entire world of 8 billion people should go into a nuclear apocalypse and die. - Branko Milanovictweet

RT @NSTRIKE1231: BIG | 🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇫🇮🇷🇺‼️ Russian opposition figure and former world chess champion Garry Kasparov has warned that a limited Russian attack on NATO territory could expose serious divisions within Europe, questioning whether Baltic and Finnish forces would strike only invading troops or also Russian military bases supporting the offensive.
“If Russian troops cross the border near Narva, Estonia, will the Baltic states and Finland strike only those troops, or also the Russian bases from which the aggression is launched?” Kasparov asked.
He argued that Poland, the Baltic states and Nordic countries perceive the Russian threat fundamentally differently from countries farther west, particularly Germany.
According to Kasparov, an attack somewhere between Narva and Daugavpils should no longer be treated as an unimaginable scenario. He suggested that Moscow could attempt a limited provocation designed to test NATO’s cohesion and decision-making.
Kasparov also criticized European leaders for avoiding explicit declarations that Ukraine must win and Russia must lose. He argued that European societies remain psychologically unprepared for the intensity of attacks Ukrainians endure.
He connected Russia’s current confrontation with Europe to Putin’s 2007 Munich speech and Moscow’s 2021 demands concerning NATO’s military posture, accusing European governments of postponing difficult strategic decisions.
🔥 Kasparov’s warning raises a central question for NATO deterrence: whether European allies have sufficiently coordinated their military responses to a limited Russian incursion. His assessment is a warning rather than evidence that an attack is imminent. Nevertheless, credible deterrence depends on clear defense planning, political coordination and the ability to respond rapidly without allowing Moscow to exploit disagreements among allies.
