My husband and I were the road block today for a lot of vehicles. He was driving the Magnum with the drill and cart behind it, I was in the Megacab pullin' the conveyor. π
This is from earlier this year, when he had the conveyor hooked to the drill to drive this circus to a field.π

Just for funsies today, I switched the water filter. I completely drained the pressure tank "just in case" which gave me the opportunity to check the air pad pressure and also when it refilled, I thought I'd look at the pressure tank temperature and see the water line with my thermal camera. Well that's a bust. The fiberglass tank has no real thermal mass of it's own, so I really can't tell the water level inside the tank.
This trick works REALLY good on the metal diesel tank behind the barn.

...and while I had the thermal camera out, I thought I'd see exactly how hot the ceiling of outer basement ring gets. Our house has a southern porch all the way round so that the summer sun never hits the walls of the house in summer. Today was a cloudless day so we got full solar thermal gain on half of the concrete porch surface. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's really not that warm. The hottest I saw was about 32C (90F) and heck it's hotter than than outside right now. What's interesting here is you can see the effect of the shadow in the thermal.

So I noticed that my veggies are looking a little wilted and I had increased the water time on the timer.... today I manually ran the water timer and noted it wasn't make any good flow at all. and this was on the outlet side of it in the adapter that changes garden hose to 1/2" vinyl tubing. arrrgghhhhh..... We got water flow NOW.

Life hack, freeze your boiling water and save for later. When you need it, simply pop them out and bring to boil.

BREAKING: ADVANCED ALZHEIMERβS PATIENT REGAINED SPEECH, MEMORY, AND BLADDER CONTROL AFTER SINGLE PSILOCYBIN DOSE
An 80-year-old woman with advanced Alzheimerβs β who had barely spoken for YEARS β experienced RAPID and SUSTAINED improvement after taking 5g of psilocybin mushrooms.
During the acute phase, she entered a prolonged deep sleep-like state with profuse sweating.
~19 hours later, she spontaneously started talking again for HOURS β sharing detailed autobiographical memories she hadnβt expressed in years.
Over the following days, her family reported improved memory, walking, emotional connection, speech, and regained bladder control.
After 1 month, bladder control REMAINED RESTORED, and she was still functionally improved compared with baseline.
While this is just one published case report, the implications are enormous given that there are currently NO approved medications known to produce effects like this in advanced Alzheimerβs.
These findings urgently need replication. For millions watching a parent or loved one disappear to Alzheimerβs, even the possibility of restoring lost function warrants serious scientific investigation.

One of the neighbors put a Midea 8000 btu window shaker heatpump in his mech room to keep it cool. The room is 8x8 insulated with 3-1/2" of open cell spray foam. He's got his MPPTs and inverters in the room and they were getting to 100F. He's finishing a shade structure but it's not done yet.
So we installed a kWh meter on the heatpump... it has used 2.8kwh in the first 24h. That about 36cents at the maket rate of electric, $11 a month. But for him, power is free because in the summer he makes 3x the power he needs and in winter when his margins are closer, he won't need to heat the room.
