☕️When I found out that reading wasn't his
cup of tea, I knew that there wasn't much of a relationship in store between us.

✨Well done 👍🏻

✅ “Angry”
is the correct answer!

🏷 Explanation:

“Appear”
is a copular verb. We use adjectives, not adverbs, to modify copular verbs.

🖊A copular verb is a type of verb that connects the subject of a sentence to its complement ,for example ‘seem’ in the sentence ‘The house seems big’.

❎Common mistake!❎

✨I tried to explain him the problem, but he had difficulty understanding me.❎

✨I tried to explain the problem to him, but he had difficulty understanding me.✅

🔴 Explanation:

Some verbs can be followed by the indirect object and then the direct object.
For example, we ca say I gave John the book. John is the indirect object and book is the direct object.
However, not all verbs follow this pattern. Recommend, explain, and describe are three common verbs that take the following form:

recommend/explain/describe + what + to whom

🔷Examples:

🔘We explained the situation to the client.✅

🔘We explained the client the situation.❎

🔘Could you describe the problem to our IT manager?✅

🔘Could you describe our IT manager the problem?❎

📚When satisfy means (1) appease, or (2) give satisfaction to, it is followed by with.
🔻We satisfied our hunger with some bread and cheese given us by a kindly housewife.
🔻You will never satisfy the examiners with work like that.
📗By, not with, is used before a gerund:🔻'I tried my best to satisfy him by carrying out all his instructions'.
📗The participial adjective satisfied, when used in this sense, takes with: 🔻'Are you quite satisfied with your new house?,🔻 'He is never satisfied with anything for long'.

📚When satisfy means 'convince', it is followed by of to indicate that concerning which one is satisfied or needs to be satisfied.
🔻Before I engage you, you must satisfy me of your ability to do the work.
📙The participial adjective satisfied, when used in this sense, also takes of.
🔻I am satisfied of the truth of his story.
📙But when satisfied forms part of a passive voice, or is otherwise fully participial in force, it takes by, no matter in what sense it is used.
🔻It was obvious that he was not satisfied by my story.
⏩(Not the same meaning as 'satisfied with my story'.)
🔻The conditions were satisfied by only five of the candidates.
