Grounded theory is a general methodology used to develop new concepts or theories through Data that have been obtained and analysed in an ongoing, systematic manner.
In this sense, a system of data analysis known as the constant Comparitive method is utilised (Strauss & Corbin, 1994).
Grounded theory is a complex iterative process. As the researcher begins to gather data, core theoretical concepts are identified.
Grounded theory provides a direction to the researcher and directs them to generate new theories or modify the existing ones.
The interpretation and conclusion of the Grounded theory approach is more reliable as it is based on data collected from multiple sources.

Steps of Grounded theory;
1) Memoing : Memos are short notes that researcher writes and prepares., are of 3 types.
a) Theoretical note
b) Field note and
c) Code notes
2) Sorting in Grounded theory

Different types of Coding in Grounded theory:
1) Open coding: is the part of the analysis concerned with identifying, naming, categorizing and describing phenomena found in the text.
2) Axial coding: is the process of relating codes (categories and properties) to each other, via a combination of inductive and deductive thinking.
3) Selective coding: is the process of choosing one category to be the core category, and relating all other categories to that category.

Discourse Analysis is a generic term covering a heterogeneous number of Theoretical approaches and analytical constructs.
It derives in the main, from linguistics, semiotics, Social Psychology, cultural studies and post-structural theory.
It is primarily a qualitative method of reading texts , conversations and documents which explores the connections between language, communication, knowledge, power and Social practices.
According to Hammersley M. (2002), Discourse Analysis is a study of the way versions or the world , society, events and psyche are produced in the use of language and discourse. The semiotics, deconstruction and narrative Analysis are forms of Discourse Analysis.
Bernard Berelson defined Discourse Analysis as " A research technique for the objective, systematic and quantitative description of manifest content of communications".

Research can be defined as "Scientific and Systematic search for pertinent information on a specific topic", simply refers to as "Search for Knowledge"
The Advanced Learner's Dictionary of Current English lays down the meaning of Research as "a careful investigation or inquiry especially through search for new facts in any branch of knowledge".
Redman and Morty define Research as "a systematized effort to gain new knowledge".
Research is a voyage of discovery.
According to Clifford Woody, Research comprises defining and redefining problems, formulating hypothesis or suggested solutions; collecting, organising and evaluating data; making deductions and reaching conclusions and atlast carefully testing the conclusions to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis.
D. Slesinger and M. Stephenson in the Encyclopedia of Social sciences define Research as " the Manipulation of things, concepts or symbols for purpose of generalising to extend, correct or verify knowledge, whether that knowledge aids in construction of theory or in the practice of an art.
Research is the pursuit of truth with the help of study, observation, comparison and experiment.
In Short, the search for knowledge through objective and Systematic method of finding solution to a problem is called Research.
The term 'Research" refers to the systematic method consisting of enunciating the problem, formulating a hypothesis, collecting the facts or data, analysing the facts and reaching certain conclusions either in the form of solutions towards the concerned problem or in certain generalisations for some theoretical formulation.
