On the anniversary of the official invasion of Afghanistan by the United States of America, we bring forth an image sequence which is an excerpt from a speech given recently by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, where his eminence discusses the recent events that have occurred in Afghanistan.
Almost 20 years ago, following the mysterious September 11th attacks in 2001, the impoverished, yet sovereign nation of Afghanistan, was attacked, invaded, and occupied by the United States of America as a part of its self-proclaimed and unilateral "Global War on Terror".
The United States of America officially launched its invasion of Afghanistan on the 7th of October, 2001, in an attack codenamed "Operation Enduring Freedom".
The invasion and occupation of Afghanistan lasted approximately two decades; starting in the year 2001 up until the year 2021, and it is the longest war in the history of the United States of America.
Along with the United States of America, countless other organizations including NATO, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), and a whole host of countries including Great Britain, Canada, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, Romania, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Poland, Latvia, Georgia, Turkey, Albania, Belgium, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Norway invaded the sovereign nation of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, the behind-the-scenes supporters of this "Global War on Terror" is a long shadowy list, in it of itself.
The hollow slogans and empty calls by the United States of America since 2001 have been revealed to the whole world, as the world has vividly witnessed that none of the reasons given for the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, either came to fruition nor did they carry any truth to them.
What is certain is that the United States of America has incurred a massive, unimaginable, and unrepayable debt for its own citizens that amounts to almost $2.3 trillion.
And what is likewise certain is that innocent Afghan civilians, innocent Afghan men, women, and children have paid the price of this "Global War on Terror" with their lives and their blood.
And finally, what is most certain, is that governments will come and go, but the people of Afghanistan will remain permanently; and we are the supporters of the people of Afghanistan.
