🤖 Search for invisible substance that make up 85% of universe’s all matter to get boost with new study

For decades, physicists have searched for dark matter, the invisible substance thought to make up roughly 85% of all matter in the universe. Although its gravitational influence shapes galaxies and the large-scale structure of the cosmos, dark matter has never been directly detected.

Now, researchers at the Hebrew University have identified three unconventional quantum materials — titanium diselenide (TiSe₂), strontium ruthenate (Sr₂RuO₄), and hole-doped diamond — that could dramatically boost the search for these elusive particles, paving the way for a new generation of ultra-sensitive dark matter detectors.

“Dark matter remains one of the greatest mysteries in physics, and discovering its nature requires us to rethink not only the particles we are searching for, but also the materials we use to search for them,” — said the researchers.

“By identifying quantum materials that naturally amplify the tiny signals expected from light dark matter, we’ve uncovered a promising new path toward experiments that are significantly more sensitive than those available today.” 🚀

🇻🇪🇺🇸 Venezuela’s Acting Leader Rodríguez Is Said to Plan UN Visit

Venezuela’s acting President Delcy Rodríguez is planning to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York next week, a visit that would mark a major step in the rapid normalization of relations between Caracas and the Trump administration.

Rodríguez would be the first Venezuelan head of state to attend the gathering in nearly a decade, following Nicolás Maduro’s last appearance in September 2018, during President Donald Trump’s first term. Both Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have said they could meet her if the trip takes place.

🇺🇸 US confirms for first time it has deployed space weapons

The U.S. has deployed its first publicly acknowledged space-based weapon, marking the first time Washington has confirmed an offensive capability in orbit.

U.S. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said that the U.S. has “on-orbit space control weapons,” as he outlined a broader push to modernize the Air Force and Space Force in response to advances by U.S. adversaries, AI, and the growing use of autonomous weapons.

“We will dramatically increase our combat power by adding large numbers of highly autonomous systems,” — he said. “Because of the steps we’re taking today, we’ll have a radically different-looking Air Force by 2032.”

A U.S. official said the capability could potentially be used to disable or destroy an enemy satellite targeting U.S. troops or satellites. 🛰

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan plans to use associated gas for crypto mining

Kazakhstan plans to use associated petroleum gas to generate electricity directly at oil fields, with the electricity produced then used for digital mining, according to Gizzat Baitursynov, Deputy Minister of AI and Digital Development.

Miners will be able to install autonomous power plants directly at oil fields in agreement with subsoil users. The relevant mechanism has already been developed jointly with the Ministry of Energy.

The ministry believes the initiative will make it possible to use an untapped resource, reduce gas flaring, attract investment and create new jobs. A similar approach is also being considered for coal mine methane.

The total planned capacity of strategic digital mining projects is 300 MW. The first 90 MW project was launched on 12 September. 🚀

⚡️🧑‍⚖️ Crypto Clarity Act flames out in failed U.S. Senate vote

The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failed to survive the politics of the U.S. Senate on Tuesday as a 49-50 vote meant to start the bill toward passage fell far short in rounding up the 60 supporters required to advance.

Crypto executives said the vote does not unwind the regulatory progress already underway at the SEC and CFTC, nor is it likely to stop banks, asset managers and crypto firms from continuing to build.

The SEC recently proposed its first major crypto rule — Regulation Crypto Assets, or Reg Crypto — to clear a path for crypto projects to raise money and get off the ground without immediately drawing difficult regulatory requirements. And the agency is poised to start approving a narrow version of securities tokenization that could eventually remake how securities transactions are executed in the U.S. 🇺🇸

"There is still reason for optimism for crypto in the U.S. Now, the SEC, under Chair Atkins, and the CFTC, under Chair Selig, will continue to work hard to issue rules to fill the legislative gap and we will continue to be actively engaged in that rule making process.

Ripple's business has never been stronger — real demand across traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem. A missed vote in Washington doesn't change our momentum, our global footprint, or our customers," — Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple CEO, said.

🤖 Scientists Just Teleported an Image Across 100 Quantum Channels at Once

Quantum teleportation is poised to change the world. It sounds like science fiction – that the quantum state of one system can be transferred, or 'teleported', to another system a great distance away at close to the speed of light.

It's real, and it has been proven — at relatively small scales. A new breakthrough represents the next step on the quantum bandwidth journey: a team of physicists led by Jietai Jing of East China Normal University has achieved quantum teleportation across 100 simultaneous channels, demonstrated by successfully teleporting the quantum information encoded in a 100-pixel image.

"As far as we know, it is indeed the largest number of independently addressable quantum teleportation channels ever demonstrated simultaneously," — Jing said.

This architecture could provide a flexible high-capacity interface for future quantum communication networks. 🚀

📱 X launches U.S. Cashtag Program with brokerage partners

X announced the U.S. launch of the X Cashtag Partner Program, connecting financial conversations on X with the ability to trade through participating brokerages. At launch, X users can tap through Cashtags to brokerage partners, including Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken and Coinbase.

Cashtags turn ticker symbols for stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies into interactive destinations, giving X users real-time access to market conversation and financial information. Now, X Cashtag partners give users a seamless path from discovering a ticker and following the conversation on X to taking action with a brokerage.

When users tap a supported Cashtag, they can view the asset’s price chart and related posts on X, then select “Trade” to continue to a participating brokerage, where they can log in or sign up and complete their trade.

“With our Cashtag partners, we’re connecting the financial conversation to action. People come to X to discover what’s happening, shape the conversation, and act in real-time on what matters to them.

Our Cashtag partners make it possible to move seamlessly from discovery and conversation to a brokerage, without breaking the moment,” — Monique Pintarelli, Head of Global Advertising, SpaceXAI, said.

Starting today, users can tap crypto cashtags such as XRP on X and be redirected to Kraken to trade the asset. 🚀

🇺🇸🧑‍⚖️ Bernie Sanders says if AI is coming for workers, it should bring a four-day workweek with it

Last week, Sanders and California Rep. Mark Takano reintroduced the Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act, which would lower the standard workweek for nonexempt employees from 40 to 32 hours, thereby pushing employers to shorten schedules or pay overtime for the difference.

“At a time when AI and robotics will radically transform our economy, it is imperative that the financial gains from this new technology benefit working families, not just a handful of billionaires and corporate CEOs. One important way to do that is through a 32-hour workweek with no loss in pay or benefits,” — Senator Bernie Sanders said.

“It’s time to reduce the stress level in our country and allow workers and their families to enjoy a better quality of life. It’s time to pass this bill.”

🇺🇸 Boston drops Flock after outside agencies gained access to vehicle data

Days after Boston launched its Flock Safety pilot program in April 2025, the surveillance system shared vehicle data in violation of the Boston Police Department’s contract.

📝 The report showed that Boston police received 77 requests from outside law enforcement agencies for access to Flock data during the pilot, while an internal audit found officers conducted 11,004 database searches and failed to include a case number tied to a criminal investigation about half the time.

“When the toggles or the access controls ... either are not able to be restricted in the ways that conform with that policy, or are set — but then can be unset, or reset, in ways that violate that policy, we would not use that platform,” — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said.

🚘 For a driver born without arms, FSD Supervised is life-changing accessibility

FSD Supervised lets him navigate the road without conventional steering – commuting to his non-profit job & visiting his daughter over 500 miles away

“I was born without arms and have driven with my feet my entire life. I’m a fully licensed driver, and traditionally I drove with my left foot on the steering wheel and my right foot handling the gas and brake. My only legal restrictions are automatic transmission and power steering.

Over the years, though, the strain from my congenital birth defects has led to significant arthritis in my hips. I drove a Model 3 for the past 7 years, and it honestly helped extend my independence in a huge way.

Recently upgrading to the Model Y – along with Full Self-Driving – has been a complete game changer for me. It dramatically reduces the physical pressure and fatigue of driving and has helped preserve a level of freedom and mobility that means a great deal to me.

Most people understandably think of Tesla in terms of innovation or sustainability, but for some of us, this technology truly becomes life-changing accessibility.” — John F.
