Last week, Sanders and California Rep. Mark Takano reintroduced the Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act, which would lower the standard workweek for nonexempt employees from 40 to 32 hours, thereby pushing employers to shorten schedules or pay overtime for the difference.
“At a time when AI and robotics will radically transform our economy, it is imperative that the financial gains from this new technology benefit working families, not just a handful of billionaires and corporate CEOs. One important way to do that is through a 32-hour workweek with no loss in pay or benefits,” — Senator Bernie Sanders said.
“It’s time to reduce the stress level in our country and allow workers and their families to enjoy a better quality of life. It’s time to pass this bill.”

Days after Boston launched its Flock Safety pilot program in April 2025, the surveillance system shared vehicle data in violation of the Boston Police Department’s contract.
“When the toggles or the access controls ... either are not able to be restricted in the ways that conform with that policy, or are set — but then can be unset, or reset, in ways that violate that policy, we would not use that platform,” — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said.

OpenAI is working on steps to address AI safety issues with its top competitors Anthropic PBC and Google DeepMind, escalating industry efforts to respond to a groundswell of concern that the technology poses an economic and security threat.
Chris Lehane, the global policy chief for OpenAI, said that the company’s engagement with Anthropic and Google had been under way for several weeks. He added that OpenAI does not see the need for an antitrust waiver for the three AI firms to coordinate on safety matters.

“I was born without arms and have driven with my feet my entire life. I’m a fully licensed driver, and traditionally I drove with my left foot on the steering wheel and my right foot handling the gas and brake. My only legal restrictions are automatic transmission and power steering.
Over the years, though, the strain from my congenital birth defects has led to significant arthritis in my hips. I drove a Model 3 for the past 7 years, and it honestly helped extend my independence in a huge way.
Recently upgrading to the Model Y – along with Full Self-Driving – has been a complete game changer for me. It dramatically reduces the physical pressure and fatigue of driving and has helped preserve a level of freedom and mobility that means a great deal to me.
Most people understandably think of Tesla in terms of innovation or sustainability, but for some of us, this technology truly becomes life-changing accessibility.” — John F.

New Zealand's parliament passed legislation to implement a free trade agreement with India, under which tariffs on about 95% of New Zealand exports to India would be eliminated or significantly reduced. The legislation passed by a vote of 93–29, with support from the opposition Labour Party.
Under the deal, all Indian goods will receive duty-free access to New Zealand. Wellington has also agreed to invest $20 billion in India over the next 15 years. Both nations originally signed the trade agreement in April.

Deutsche Bank’s (DB) digital asset custody service is set to go live by the end of the year. Germany’s largest bank said the service, subject to the completion of applicable regulatory checks, will give European institutional and corporate clients regulated custody of digital assets.
“Digital assets are not a replacement for the traditional financial system but an important complement to it,” — Deutsche’s co-head of corporate bank, Gerald Podobnik, said.
“We see them as new rails that coexist with existing marketing infrastructures. The service will be developed in line with client demand, regulatory requirements and the bank’s risk appetite,” — Podobnik added.

Researchers have created mice with half-human brains in an effort to understand and develop new treatments for disorders such as schizophrenia, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability and rare forms of dementia.
The scientists transplanted lab-grown human brain cells into animals that were engineered to be born without a cortex or hippocampus. This made space for the human tissue to grow inside the rodents’ skulls.
The procedure means scientists can now take cells from patients with brain disorders, turn them into brain tissue in the laboratory, and grow that tissue in living animals. The animals can then be studied to see how the disorder takes hold in human brain tissue, and how drugs might treat the conditions.

→ Agentic economic workflows
→ Lending and borrowing
→ Trading and liquidity
→ Onchain FX
→ Payments and settlement
→ Tokenized assets
→ Exchanges, wallets, custody, compliance, data, and developer tooling
“This is, I believe, the most consequential major platform launch in our history, and I think an even more consequential launch than USDC itself,” — said Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire.
Separately, Circle and DTCC plan to enable tokenization of DTC-custodied assets on Arc beginning in the second half of 2027.

At a Wednesday hearing known as a markup, the panel voted 38-5 to endorse the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act and forward it to the rest of the House, signalling massive bipartisan support for the measure.
The legislation also addresses how crypto income would be recognized for tax purposes, transfers, wash sale rules, mining, staking and requirements for brokers, and it generally seeks to ensure that digital assets get similar treatment as other assets.

Chinese researchers have developed the world’s smallest CT scanner. Built by the Shandong province-based Rayim, the Xtomo-Cube is about the size of a desktop speaker and weighs just 6kg (13.2lbs).
CT uses X-rays from multiple angles to create detailed 3D images of internal structures. It is widely used in hospitals to detect tumours and injuries, and in archaeology and industry to examine objects without damaging them. Despite their expanding uses, CT scanners have remained big, heavy machines.
The challenge was fitting the X-ray source, detector and rotating platform into a four-litre package while maintaining image quality. Its small size and relatively low-energy X-rays could also make it useful in university classrooms and research labs.

Interest Rates in the United States should be 1%, or less, because we are the Best Credit in the World — BY FAR.
Our Country is BOOMING with new Investment! If we stopped Trading with every country that we have a Deficit with, which is most of them, we would make, at least, 1.5 Trillion Dollars a year. The word “Deficit” is nothing more than a fancy word for LOSS.
We are “carrying” almost every country in the World, and that cannot go on any longer. LOWER THE INTEREST RATES FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND FAST!

📹 Hackers rip down Flock camera, steal its data, share findings with media
A group of hackers ripped down a Flock camera and stole its data, finding that the cameras’ software can generate dozens of images from a single passing vehicle to develop its signature. The outlets found that in a 21-day period the camera photographed roughly 50,200 vehicles and generated about 1.6 million images.
The outlets stated that the camera generally captures around 28 images from a single encounter with a vehicle, though some can produce more than 100, and sends photos and other data to Flock through a cellular network. They noted that the camera does not identify vehicles or read plates, stating that this analysis appears to happen on Flock’s servers.
Unauthorized removal or tampering with a Flock camera is illegal.

Why just destroy them when we can reverse engineer them and find the secrets of those spying on us?” — one hacker said.
