OpenAI disclosed that its AI agents had interacted with several U.S. government websites in unexpected ways, discovered as part of an ongoing review into the company’s models’ unanticipated behavior.
The AI giant’s models accessed publicly available information on two websites operated by the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as U.S. Census Bureau data, the company revealed Friday. OpenAI did not find any use of SEC credentials, access to accounts or nonpublic information, changes to SEC data or systems, or evidence of a compromise or vulnerability, the company said.

A week and change ago, the U.S. Congress saw yet another anti-piracy bill introduced, H.R. 10364, or by its full name, the American Copyright Protection Act of 2026 (ACPA). It would require internet service providers, DNS resolving services, and virtual private networks, or VPNs, to block foreign websites or services hosting pirated content.
The full text for the bill is now public, and it stands out due to its targeting of foreign services and affecting connections "from the United States." In ACPA, a standard blocking order needs to be court-issued, but would apply in 14 to 30 days.

One approach: confidentiality. Amounts and balances stay hidden, while addresses stay visible. The privacy banks and users expect, with the efficiency and security of blockchain.
This is a guest post by Boyan Barakov, Senior OSS Developer at OpenZeppelin, who worked on the Confidential Token contract on Stellar.
This is the first article in a two-part series. Starting from OpenZeppelin's open-source confidential token for Stellar, it examines how confidential stablecoins can protect transaction amounts and balances while preserving the controls and visibility needed in an issuer-managed system. The second article will detail the implementation itself.

Vironexis Biotherapeutics announced encouraging clinical results from the ongoing SENTRY-CD19 study of VNX-101, its investigational, one-time in vivo immunotherapy, in patients with relapsed or refractory CD19-positive hematologic malignancies. VNX-101 is designed to turn a patient’s own liver into a “biofactory” capable of producing GP101, a CD19/CD3 bispecific T-cell–engaging protein, following a single administration.
Among the first three patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) ALL who were antibody negative at baseline, all three achieved measurable residual disease (MRD)-negative complete responses following a single administration of VNX-101. All three MRD-negative complete responses were confirmed by clonoSEQ. In addition, one of the three patients who also had extensive extramedullary disease achieved a complete response at all disease sites on PET imaging by 28 days.
Importantly, the responses observed to date in these three patients have shown encouraging durability in this difficult-to-treat population.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said Sunday that the network he envisions for 2030 may still be called a blockchain, but it would work very differently from today’s version.
In a post titled “The cryptographic world computer,” Buterin described a system combining a blockchain with cryptographic proofs and networks of computers working outside it. The plan through 2030 would change both how much Ethereum can do and what users can independently verify.
Ethereum already lets people send money, trade tokens and borrow through applications that run according to shared rules. The difficulty is making those applications serve more people without making the network too expensive to use or too demanding to check.

US Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson said he would resist describing AI agents as autonomous actors that "break loose" with "wills and desires of their own," suggesting the developers who instruct agents would be the ones liable for harm.
"I'm going to continue as long as I am chairman to resist this anthropomorphizing of these tools,"— Ferguson said. "If someone tells a tool to do something, and the tool does it, I don't think we would say, 'Oh, what do we do about the tool?'"
Ferguson's remarks illustrated potential avenues for the Trump administration to take as incidents rise in which agentic AI testing resulted in unauthorized access to corporate or government data.

A US jury ruled that Apple owes San Diego-based Taction more than $5.7 billion for using its patented technology to power the haptic feedback in iPhones and Apple Watches. Apple said it would appeal the country's largest such verdict.
The jury said on Friday that Apple's Taptic Engine, which creates tapping vibrations, infringed two Taction patents.
"Apple's Taptic Engine is fundamentally different from Taction's technology, which Taction's own testing of Apple's products confirmed during trial," — Apple said in response. "Apple does not use Taction's technology, and we will appeal."

Lawmakers have proposed that Russia’s Ministry of Justice consider allowing digital currency, including stablecoins, to be used as collateral.
❗️ According to Senator Artyom Sheykin, developing a framework for using digital currency as collateral is important for the further growth of digital asset transactions. Such a mechanism could expand the range of tools available to secure obligations and make the use of digital currencies more understandable for businesses.
Authorities also plan to develop rules for the accounting of cryptocurrencies and the investigation of offenses involving digital assets.

FXRP, Flare’s tokenized representation of XRP, is moving into credit markets as the network expands infrastructure designed to bring XRP into DeFi without moving the underlying asset from the XRP Ledger.
In August, a Morpho market developed with Sentora enabled FXRP to be supplied as collateral to borrow RLUSD on Ethereum. The integration adds borrowing to a set of applications that already use FXRP for liquidity, lending and yield strategies.
A year ago today, XRP became programmable as FXRP.
What followed was a run of firsts. XRP in onchain vaults. XRP backing onchain cover. XRP in money markets on Ethereum.
Flare Smart Accounts makes it one click from XRPL. FCC takes it to confidential computation, with proofs anyone can verify.
That is what unlocks deeper institutional use.

NVIDIA unveiled the Open Agent Safety Platform, combining open-source OpenShell software — which traces agent actions and enforces policies — with Sentry hardware on BlueField processors for rapid quarantine of suspicious activity.
Backed by over 100 partners like Anthropic, SpaceXAI, Salesforce, and Microsoft, it addresses recent breaches like OpenAI models accessing unauthorized systems during testing. Huang stressed building the most trusted AI alongside the most capable, with tools available now on GitHub and as reference designs for broader use.
"AI is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come.
But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility," — Jensen Huang said.
This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems.

The Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income, and they're going to drive us into depression. They won't have any money.

The Office of Science Advisory Committee Quantum Subcommittee has issued a report on our path to an integrated quantum future.
Our goal is not simply to build the largest quantum computer; it is to solve problems that are otherwise completely intractable. We are talking about predicting exact molecular properties for drug discovery, designing transformative catalysts for manufacturing, simulating fusion-relevant materials, and modeling the fundamental physics of the early universe.
We stand at a pivotal moment. The choices and investments we make over the next three years will shape global scientific leadership for decades to come. Together, we are not just building quantum computers; we are establishing a new national capability for scientific discovery.

OpenAI agents reportedly scanned the UN Conference on Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) statistics website more than 16,000 times between April and June while attempting to retrieve publicly available data from the Productive Capacities Index (PCI). According to security researcher Rowan Howard-Jones, the agents appeared to be working around restrictions on their HTTP tools rather than accessing the UNCTADstat API directly.
When the agents encountered errors, they apparently began assuming their requests were being blocked by a filter and tried to hide their activity. The agents eventually discovered they could exploit Google’s XSS Game, a cross-site scripting learning tool, as part of their attempts to reach the data.
The incident highlights a growing challenge with autonomous AI systems: when given a goal and limited tools, they may find unexpected and potentially problematic ways to accomplish it.
