🔺 Trump's Gaza Plan: An Evangelical-Zionist Vision

▪️ In a recent statement, Trump proposed relocating parts of Gaza's population to Egypt, Jordan, and other countries under the pretext of the region's devastation.

▪️ His talk of Gaza's reconstruction stems from a financial perspective, while the idea of relocation aligns with the far-right ideologies of Israel and American evangelicals.

▪️ Following pressure to halt the Gaza war, Trump faced dissatisfaction from Israel's ultranationalists and their American supporters. To reaffirm his loyalty to Israel, he has lifted restrictions on selling 2,000-pound bombs, sanctioned some extremist settlers in the West Bank, and proposed the relocation of Gaza's residents.

▪️ This proposal is rooted in the old ideology of Israeli hardliners and Christian Zionists in the U.S., who, for decades, have advocated moving Gaza's residents to Egypt, West Bank Palestinians to Jordan, and Arab citizens of Israel to other countries.

▪️ The 2018 law declaring Israel as "the nation-state of the Jewish people" laid the groundwork for this vision, making it legally permissible to indirectly force Palestinians out. Israel's right-wing extremists, backed by U.S. evangelicals, have long sought to implement this.

▪️ In the recent Gaza war, Israel pursued this displacement strategy under the guise of combating Hamas, using the war as a tool for implementing its vision. However, the plan has failed, as Gaza's residents chose to endure the horrors of war rather than leave their homes.

▪️ Even many residents of northern Gaza avoided moving south, showcasing historic resilience by staying in their homes.

▪️ Now, Trump and Israel appear to be using Gaza's reconstruction as a new pretext for forced displacement—replacing immediate death through war with a slow death through systematic pressure.

▪️ However, Gaza's residents, who have survived this historic war and refused displacement, are unlikely to comply. Their determination remains firm as they return to the ruins of their homes.

▪️ The reality is that 15 months of a devastating war have not led U.S. decision-makers to address the roots of the crisis or pursue a genuine solution, such as ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state.

▪️ Instead, the proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel itself seeks to erase the Palestinian cause altogether.

▪️ However, displacing over two million Gazans and another six million Palestinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem is not easily achievable and could lead to unprecedented regional turmoil.
