🔴 #Academic_Specialized / Factors Behind the Rise of the “Evangelical” Movement in U.S. Foreign Policy

✍️ Mostafa Amiri

🔻 Overall, three factors enabled right-wing Christians to become an influential force in U.S. foreign policy:

• The election of a figure closely associated with the Evangelical movement to the presidency.

• The expansion of the “grassroots base” of right-wing Christians in the United States.

• An alliance with the “neoconservatives,” who play a highly influential role within the U.S. administration.

Each of these factors will be examined in detail below:

1️⃣ Presidential Support

Right-wing Christians began to become politically active during the presidency of Ronald Reagan.

However, the administrations of George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton did not provide much opportunity for right-wing Christians to gain influence at the presidential level.

With the election of George W. Bush as president, however, right-wing Christians gained presidential support. Although George H. W. Bush was unhappy with the movement’s close connection between religion and politics, his son, George W. Bush, became familiar with the religious views of right-wing Christians and, in practice, became their spokesperson.

Bush’s relationship with Evangelicals enabled them to gain influence within his cabinet and administration.

The invasion of Iraq and Bush’s famous statement illustrate this point: “We entered Iraq with the will of Christ.” George W. Bush also described Iran as part of the “Axis of Evil,” a phrase that has been interpreted as reflecting an apocalyptic religious worldview.

Today, with Donald Trump back in power, the presence of Christian Zionism within the U.S. administration has reached an unprecedented level.

2️⃣ Expansion of the Popular Electoral Base

Pat Robertson, a U.S. presidential candidate, played a key role in the emergence of the organization known as the Christian Coalition.

Followers of this movement have played an important role in Republican electoral victories. For this reason, during election campaigns, Republican candidates have generally considered it necessary to attend the annual convention of the Christian Coalition.

Today, right-wing Christians constitute a central component of the conservative electoral coalition. Consequently, presidents affiliated with the Republican Party are compelled to take their ideological foundations into consideration as well.

The evolution of the Christian Right can be summarized as follows: in the early 1980s, it operated as a relatively limited political current in the United States. It then formed a broader coalition under the banner of support for the institution of the family, and eventually entered the political arena as an Evangelical force within the Republican Party.

One example of this evolution is Ralph Reed, former executive director of the Christian Coalition and chairman of the Republican Party of Georgia.

3️⃣ Alliance with Jewish Neoconservatives

The access of right-wing Christians to sources of political power was strengthened as a result of their alliance with neoconservatives and their growing influence within the Bush administration.

Of course, neoconservative thinkers—many of whom are Jewish—would logically not be expected to form an alliance with right-wing Christians.

However, “shared interests” brought about this alliance.

The most important basis of this partnership has been their shared support for Israel, or more precisely, their support for the views and policies associated with the Likud Party.

🔴 The Rise and Fall of “Zionist” Thought Across Different U.S. Administrations

✍️ Mostafa Amiri

🔻A professor of International Relations at Tarbiat Modares University, in a peer-reviewed research article supported by credible documentation and references, examined the prevailing pattern in U.S.–Israeli relations based on three key factors:

● Shared strategic interests
● The influence of Evangelical Christian thought
● The Jewish lobby

The study concludes that during the George W. Bush administration, when the invasion of Iraq took place, and during the Trump administration, when the U.S. Embassy was moved to Jerusalem for the first time, Jerusalem was recognized as Israel’s “eternal capital,” and the Golan Heights were recognized as part of Israel, U.S. policy was influenced by the ideology of “Zionism.” [1]

▪️ On the other side of the equation, an examination of Israel’s political developments shows that this same ideological current has also reached its peak within the Israeli regime.

🔻A professor of International Relations at Kharazmi University, in a peer-reviewed research article, examined the evolution of Israeli governments and concluded:

The peak of Jewish messianism in Israel’s history emerged under the Netanyahu government, in coalition with religious right-wing parties. [2]

▪️ Zionism is now at the height of its confrontation with Shiite messianism.

🔴 An Existential War

🔻Did you pay close attention to the channel’s “previous post”?

University professors, after careful and scientific analysis, reached this conclusion:

“Netanyahu and Trump represent the peak—and the End—of Zionist thought.”

There is nothing more for them to reveal. Okay?

▪️ Either they achieve what they want, or Iran emerges victorious. That’s it.

🌙 In the middle of the night, when Mostafa would wake up for Tahajjud (the night prayer), I couldn’t bear to see him get up. I would say:

“That’s enough. Get some rest. You’re tired.”

And Mostafa would reply:

💭 “If a businessman spends from his capital, he will eventually go bankrupt. He has to make a profit in order to sustain his life.
If we are not going to pray the night prayer, we will go bankrupt.”

💠 Negotiating with Allah

🎙️ Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli said:

“It is not possible for someone who is devoted to the Night Prayer (Salat al-Layl) to have a life that is left in hardship.

Do not perform the Night Prayer merely so that your sustenance may increase. Pray in order to converse and commune with your Creator. When you do so, Allah Himself will take care of your affairs.” 🤲✨

“Allah is the One who provides for every creature. He sustains even the snakes and scorpions. As mentioned in Surah Hud, verse 6, every creature has its provision guaranteed by Him.

So how could a believer who turns to Allah through the Night Prayer be left without sustenance?” 🌿

🌿 Ayatollah Shaykh Muhammad Taqi Isfahani, famously known as Aqa Najafi Isfahani, writes about one of his spiritual experiences:

“Once, while I was engaged in spiritual discipline in Najaf, certain mysteries were unveiled to me. Among them was this:

One Wednesday night, I was sitting in the Masjid al-Sahlah when, shortly before dawn, I saw one of the Men of the Unseen (Rijāl al-Ghayb). I asked him many questions, and I carefully wrote down the answers he conveyed from the Imam, so that I would not forget them.

One of my questions was:

‘Teach me a supplication or remembrance that will benefit me in all my needs.’

He replied:

✨ ‘There is no remembrance closer to Allah Almighty than sending blessings upon Muhammad and his family.’ ✨

🌸 German Convert to Islam: “Everything in the Life of Lady Fatima (SA) Is Special to Me”

👤 Maryam Dilki, a German Muslim convert and media activist, says:

“Lady Mary (SA) has been honored and venerated far more in the Holy Qur’an than in the Gospel. In the Gospel, Mary’s sanctity is primarily associated with her being called the ‘Mother of God.’”

🌹 “Everything in Lady Fatima’s Life Is Special to Me”

When asked what has impressed her most about the personality and life of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (SA), Maryam Dilki replied:

“Everything in the life of Lady Fatima (SA) is special to me: the circumstances before her birth, her childhood in that radiant home, her courage during the early years of her youth, the hardships she endured and the loss of her mother, and the fact that despite her young age, she became a source of support for the Messenger of God.

Her unique marriage to Imam Ali (AS), and her influential role as the wife and mother of extraordinary children, are also remarkable to me.”

🌿 “Above all, I admire Lady Fatima’s perseverance, her unwavering trust in God, her simple way of life, and the importance she placed on modesty and hijab while remaining active and engaged in society.

I especially admire her standing against the oppressive rule of her time and her defense of the rights of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). As for the events that ultimately led to her martyrdom, I have only recently begun studying Islamic sources on this subject.”

📖 Lady Mary in the Qur’an and the Gospel

Asked about similarities between the Virgin Mary (SA) in the Gospel and Lady Fatima al-Zahra (SA) in Islamic sources, she said:

“I am not an expert in the Gospel, but I am certain that Lady Mary (SA) is honored and venerated much more in the Qur’an than in the Gospel.

The Gospel contains no detailed account of Mary’s youth or her personal qualities, nor does it describe the miraculous birth of Jesus (AS) from the virgin Mary. Even information about Jesus’ adolescence is extremely scarce in the Gospel.”

She continued:

“Therefore, I do not see many similarities. In the Gospel, Mary’s sanctity is primarily connected to her being called the ‘Mother of God,’ rather than to her own personality and life.

Of course, Catholics regard her as sinless and as an intermediary of revelation, while Protestants have a very different view.”

📖 She also noted that Mary can be known more extensively through the verses of the Qur’an, where her name is explicitly mentioned.

⚖️ Women’s Rights and International Women’s Day

Regarding International Women’s Day, she explained that the movement originated from a socialist tradition focused on women’s suffrage and combating discrimination in the workplace.

However, she argued that despite many positive changes:

“Women are still increasingly reduced to their appearance and bodies in advertising and the media. Women’s movements and International Women’s Day have not been able to put an end to this culture of nudity.”

She attributed what she sees as the failures of some Western women’s movements to secular and atheistic ideals, arguing that activism becomes vulnerable to corruption and the pursuit of personal power or wealth when people do not see themselves as accountable to God.

“In my view, this is precisely where the Islamic perspective differs: people who engage in worldly activities for the sake of God are protected from dangers such as putting personal interests—whether power or wealth—above everything else.”

🧕 Muslim Women Wearing Hijab in Europe

Asked about the challenges facing hijabi Muslim women in Europe, she said:

“Today, politics, with the help of the media, has launched a broad campaign against Islam and uses hijabi women instrumentally to portray Islam as ‘backward’ and women as ‘oppressed.’ Politicians like to present themselves as the ‘saviors’ of Muslim women.”

Yet she does not believe European society is necessarily as hostile as this portrayal suggests.

🌱 “As time goes on, Muslim and hijabi women are becoming more educated and more successful in their professional and personal lives. In my opinion, this progress is the best way we can positively influence our non-Muslim fellow citizens.”

She concluded:

“We should have a strong presence in the mainstream media—not merely by writing articles about Islam and hijab, but by addressing all the issues that society is facing.

This cannot be achieved in the short term because our opponents are powerful, but I am certain that God will help us Muslims.”

🔴 The Spirit of “Luther” Lives On in John Hagee

✍️ By Mostafa Amiri

🔻 Martin Luther, the founder of Protestantism — a seemingly Christian figure who placed the Jews above all others — stated that “Christ was born a Jew.” In doing so, he gave Christianity an unprecedented Jewish character. He wrote:

▪️ “The Jews have the noblest blood flowing in their veins. Through them, the Holy Spirit carried the Bible to the farthest corners of the world. They are the children of God.”

▪️ Years passed, and it seems that Luther’s spirit has now found a new home in John Hagee. Consider the following statement:

🔻 John Hagee, an American Evangelical author and a figure associated with the intellectual circles surrounding the Trump administration, writes:

▪️ “Israel is the only nation created by a sovereign act of God, and He has sworn by His holiness to defend Jerusalem, His Holy City. If God created and defends Israel, those nations that fight against it fight against God.” [1, 2]

🔻 And just like that, by invoking Scripture, the argument is presented as unquestionable truth.

💭 Now, do you really think the Israeli–Palestinian conflict will be resolved?

🔴 The Spirit of “Herzl” Lives On in Netanyahu

✍️ By Mostafa Amiri

🔻 In the early 20th century, Theodor Herzl, in his book The Jewish State [1], persuaded many that the establishment of Israel would best serve their interests.

▪️ It should be noted, however, that Herzl was a secular Jew and did not place much faith in religious beliefs.

▪️ In pursuing this vision, Herzl put forward an idea that helped fuel a conflict which has kept the Palestinian question at the forefront of global affairs. He stated:

“We must take possession of the land of the Palestinians, expropriate their private property, and drive them out of Palestine by providing them with opportunities in other countries, while preventing them from finding employment in Palestine.” [2]

🔻 Today, Herzl’s vision appears to be unfolding on a much larger scale under Benjamin Netanyahu. He is pursuing the dream of establishing a “Greater Israel.”
