♦️ Ibn al-Qaddah narrates from Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), who said:

🔸️ “My father engaged constantly in the remembrance of Allah. I would walk with him and he would remember Allah; I would eat with him and he would remember Allah. Even when he spoke with others and narrated a hadith to them, that would not distract him from the remembrance of Allah. I would see him with his tongue touching the roof of his mouth, saying:

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ

🔹️ He would gather us together and instruct us all to remain engaged in dhikr until sunrise. Whoever among us was able to recite the Qur’an, he would instruct them to recite the Qur’an; and whoever was unable to do so, he would instruct them to engage in dhikr.

🔸️ A house in which the Qur’an is recited and Allah is remembered is filled with abundant blessings. The angels are present there, the devils leave that house, and it shines and radiates light for the inhabitants of the heavens, just as the stars shine for the inhabitants of the earth.

And a house in which the Qur’an is not recited and Allah is not remembered loses its blessings; the angels leave it, and the devils enter it.”

If you strike a metal cup that is left hanging freely, with nothing supporting or holding it, it will continue to vibrate for quite some time.

But if you hold the cup in your hand and then strike it, the vibrations quickly cease.

The same is true of a person.

Someone who has no support—someone whom God has not taken into His care—can lose his inner peace with a single blow. He may remain distressed, confused, and bewildered for a long time.

But the one who relies upon God, whose heart has found peace in Him, and whom God holds in His care, will not be thrown into turmoil by life’s blows. He preserves his peace and steadiness. 🤍
