Happened in Sunnyvale, California. :)
'I recently started this new job here in California. On my first day, I mentioned to my boss and a HR staffer that, as a Muslim, I would just need to duck away for a few minutes, a couple times a day, to do the afternoon prayers. I told them I could do my prayer in any out of the way place, and they were very nice and said it would be fine.
I ended up in a dark and empty room with tile floor that was just a few feet from where I work. It was more than I needed and I was so happy that there was this unused space.
After a couple of days of making my prayer in this place I came in and found that the room had a lush, brand new, carpet, lamp, and a little bench (perfect for taking shoes on and off). A sign on the door, and an email from HR, officially commissioned this room as a "quiet room", suitable for any employees who wished to pray, meditate, or just take a mental break. Ya Rab! Tawfeeq! I can't say enough, or thank enough, the good people that so quickly put this together. I hope many people may enjoy and benefit from this new space.
