📆 Daily Calendar 🌺 Today: Sunday 🌞 23 Shahrivar 1404 (Solar Hijri) ☪️ 21 Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1447 (Lunar Hijri) ✝️ 14 September 2025 (Gregorian) 🕎 21 Elul 5785 (Hebrew) 🌍 On this day (Gregorian): ✍ The death of Arthur Wellesley, British politician from the wealthy…
🔎 Rothschilds, the Wellesley Family, and the Napoleonic Wars (Part I)

📜 From the series “Jews, the English, and the Dawn of a New Age”

During the early 19th century, Nathan Mayer Rothschild rose rapidly in London’s financial markets. His success was not simply personal genius but deeply rooted in the longstanding alliance between Jewish financial elites and the British colonial oligarchy.

⚔️ As Napoleon’s wars raged across Europe, key events opened the doors of power and wealth to the Rothschilds:

💰 William of Hesse-Kassel, fleeing Napoleon’s armies, entrusted his immense fortune to Mayer Amschel Rothschild in Frankfurt. Huge portions of this wealth were funneled to Nathan in London, fueling his financial operations.

🤝 The Wellesley brothers (including Arthur Wellesley, later Duke of Wellington) relied heavily on Jewish financiers during the Peninsular Wars. Rothschilds, through their vast network, became the main suppliers of funds for Wellington’s army when Britain itself failed to deliver.

🚢 Despite Napoleon’s continental blockade, Rothschild networks engaged in massive smuggling operations, moving British goods into Europe and precious metals back into England—draining France of gold and silver while enriching Britain.

📊 By 1810–1811, the collapse of France’s financial stability was accelerated by these covert financial-intelligence operations. The Rothschilds, linked with powerful Jewish banking families like the Goldsmids, replaced fallen houses such as Barings and emerged as the dominant force in London’s markets.

🌍 The outcome?
The Rothschild-Wellesley partnership not only undermined Napoleon’s empire but also cemented the Rothschild dynasty as the backbone of the modern global financial network.

During the turbulent years of the Napoleonic Wars (1811–1816), a powerful financial network quietly shaped Europe’s destiny. At the center of it all stood Nathan Mayer Rothschild, the man who became the chief military banker of Britain and its allies, ensuring the flow of money to the armies resisting Napoleon.

💰 The Rothschild Financial Machine

John Harris, the man in charge of Allied war funding, relied almost entirely on Nathan Rothschild and his brothers to transfer vast sums across Europe.

Close relatives such as Meyer Davidson (Amsterdam) and figures like Albert Goldsmid and Moses Montefiore joined this financial–military effort.

Between 1812–1814, Britain injected nearly £30 million into continental Europe, with more than half funneled through Rothschild networks. Nathan’s commission alone reached £1 million – a staggering figure for the time.

🏰 Restoring the Bourbon Monarchy

After Napoleon’s first defeat, Britain tasked Nathan Rothschild with secretly funding the return of Louis XVIII to the throne of France.

In 1814, Rothschild arranged a £200,000 transfer to finance Louis’s grand entry into Paris. Soon after, Nathan’s brother James Rothschild officially established the Rothschild bank in Paris, right under the shadow of occupation forces.

⚔️ The Hundred Days & Waterloo (1815)

Napoleon’s dramatic comeback in March 1815 threw Europe into chaos. The powers of Europe (Britain, Austria, Prussia, Russia) once again united, with Britain pledging £110 million to defeat him.

Rothschilds quickly resumed their critical role, funneling hundreds of thousands of pounds to Prussia and other allies.

On June 18, 1815, at the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was crushed.

📉 The Waterloo Stock Market Coup

News of the battle traveled slowly – except to Nathan Rothschild, whose intelligence network outpaced even Wellington’s official messengers.

Arriving early at the London Stock Exchange, Nathan pretended defeat, selling off stocks in silence. Panic ensued; everyone rushed to sell.

At the lowest point, Rothschild agents bought back massive quantities of shares at bargain prices.

The next day, when the official news of victory broke, stock prices skyrocketed. Nathan Rothschild’s fortune multiplied overnight, cementing his dynasty’s dominance in global finance.

🕵️ Conspiracy or Genius?

Historians remain divided:

Some argue Rothschild merely used superior intelligence gathering.

Others believe in a deliberate manipulation scheme, perhaps even in coordination with Wellington himself, who suspiciously delayed reporting his victory.

Regardless, the fact remains: Rothschild’s actions were real, rapid, and immensely profitable.

🎭 Winners and Losers

The Rothschilds, Wellesleys (Duke of Wellington’s family), and insiders like John Harris amassed vast wealth.

Corruption blurred the line between loans and bribes – with officials like Charles Arbuthnot pocketing secret payments from Nathan.

Britain emerged victorious militarily but crippled financially, burdened with immense national debt – while the Rothschild dynasty rose to global power.

🔥 Takeaway:
The Napoleonic Wars were not only fought with cannons and armies – they were also battles of finance and information. The Rothschilds mastered both, ensuring their rise as the undisputed lords of international banking, shaping the future of Europe and beyond.
