🔹 The Israeli occupation has released Nael Barghouti, along with hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, as part of the seventh and final phase of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.

🔹 Barghouti, recognized by the Guinness World Records in 2009 as the longest-serving political prisoner, has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance. In November 2024, he entered his 45th year of imprisonment, marking the longest detention in the history of the Palestinian prisoners' movement.

🔹 Arrested in 1978 for his affiliation with Fatah and involvement in anti-occupation operations, he was sentenced to life plus 18 years. He spent 34 consecutive years behind bars, earning the title “Dean of Prisoners”.

🔹 Israel repeatedly refused to release him in any prisoner exchange deals—until Hamas secured his freedom in 2011. However, he was rearrested after 32 months and reinstated to his previous life sentence.
